They should package the jet black K3iii with an all-white K70 "Stormtrooper Edition" and sell the combo at the Star Wars experience in a few months

The Pentax K-3 Mark III Jet Black Edition is limited to 232 pieces. Strange number; rounded figures are more usual.

Note that the price paid by backers is ¥300,000 (10% VAT included) plus a 'system usage fee' charged by the Ubungoe crowdfunding platform. This fee amounts to 5% + ¥330. The total amounts to ¥315,330.

Note also that there is no mention of 'Ricoh Imaging' anywhere in the text or in the description on the crowdfunding page:

According to one of the sidebars there is another version already an active project, "D", while "B" is a plan.

My understanding is that, albeit the Jet Black model had the most positive feedback, D and B models were close second and third. However, I don't see anything on this page implying that D is already an active project and B a planned one.

EDIT: And oddly enough Google still translates D as "Project" and A,B,C as "Plan", which given the percentages would make sense. If there's some difference in the Japanese text it's not obvious so there's little doubt IMO that you're correct. The current offering is of course "A pitch black single-lens reflex camera"

camera + lens very beautiful as aesthetics. They started with perhaps the easiest project. A monochromatic or astro or infrared model would have been more promotional, but it is good that they have respected the times. Let's see if it will be a pilot project with other followers and if these models can also be replicated in other parts of the world.
