Not sure you understand the concept of limited custom releases, John!

Like the various jerseys of a sports team, they're aimed at wealthy collectors.

The intention is not to replace what you already have.

They are a great way for a company to make money. Just ask the American guitar manufacturers.

Of course, we all need black.

Pity it's only available in Japan.

You'd think if there were one place an "all black" camera was going to be... you'd be it...
(and the video won't work for me on the other side of the world)

Time for an update on the two Ubugoe crowdfunding projects even though not much happened during the past seven days.

There are still 18 days until the campaigns' end.

Since the j Limited Sanada Himo hand strap crowdfunding project has crossed the 250% threshold (2.5 times the initial goal) TKO announced today that they are adding an engraved hot shoe cover to the bundle people will receive (until now, the hand strap and a j Limited playing card).

The engraved logo is the so-called AP 'Cyclops' mark from the early 1960s..

Is it due to the addition of the AP Cyclops-branded hot shoe cover to the offer or to another cause, I don't know, but orders of j Limited Sanada Himo hand straps experimented a spectacular boost during the last 24 hours: 14 units were ordered versus an average of two per day during the last 10 days.

The first day excepted this is the highest daily order of the campaign so far.

I know they are collector’s items, but I wonder how the hand straps would hold up under use?
One might be a nice addition to my Q-S1.

Sanada Himo straps were used to hold together the pieces of the samurais' armours, so...

They are made of silk, therefore I would say they should be very resistant to mechanical wear and tear but, judging by dresses or carpets made of silk, could deteriorate over time (50 to 70 years), in particular if exposed to bright light.

Gosh, I did not know that. Thanks for the history background. Now that particular strap makes far more sense for the Japan market.

The resistance to mechanical wear and tear is important to me.
Deterioration over time is something I no longer worry about {my body has deteriorated itself over the past 74 years}.
There are at least two sources of demand shown here - collectors and those who expect to sell over eBay}.

Flash photography isn't recommended, then? 🙃

It's like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is - none. None more black.
