Good to get some good news though I think people are really wondering when the K-70, K1 II and 645Z can expect updates as they're all getting a little long in the tooth.

They should be coming faster now that the new OS has been figured out.
Maybe at this point, we should be looking at what's available, not what's new. K-70, -1ii, K-3iii... especially in the case of the K-70, keeping the price down is probably more important than the marginal improvements we see these days.

Ricoh/Pentax is certainly keeping low profile. Seems they would want to appear as a sponsor for B&H's upcoming Depth of Field event, like many others. They're appearing more and more a niche player.

Oh please, how does living in the 2-4% market share over the last 12 years qualify them as anything other than bit niche player. It's not about what they want to appear to be. It's about what they are. People who want to be part of "the in crowd" don't buy these cameras. People buy these cameras after careful research and attention to what their personal needs are, and what they can get for their money. It's an interesting niche, but, niche just the same.

My point, apparently not well made, is they don't seem to be making any effort to break out of a niche, new flagship camera and all. Maybe that's consistent with their new strategy.

Attempting to break out of their niche might not be the smart thing to do.
