Would i love to see one? well, yes I would.

I just do not see it happen anytime soon.

A 645D is what I would like to see happen even more, but again I would not know want to guess if/when that happens either.

Full frame Pentax 20 D

I voted yes, but it would have to sell for less than $2000. cdn. and be a major step ahead of the present 20D. ken

2 sensors :)

A while ago, somebody suggested 2 sensors:

One full-frame
One cropped

And you could just press a button and it would be switched. Now if Pentax could pull that off, that would be incredible! I would really want to be able to use those older wide-angle lenses again.

I voted yes, just because I want Pentax to compete with everybody else, and not get left in the dust again, like they did in the digital switch.

I can't vote either. If i do go FF, it will be the D700...

I wish Pentax will introduce a FF camera to stop some of the Pentaxians becoming N*konians

Yes, I'd buy it, I don't use digital much (mostly film), but my son likes my K10d and he can have it if a FF comes out.

The extra width on the ff sensor just turns off when the camera detects an APS lens, ala Nikon D3/D700. Don't need two sensors. With an APS rich lens line-up, I'd highly suspect if Pentax produced a FF body, this feature would be a given.

IMO, there is no way Pentax is gonna put out a FF body in 2009. In distant future maybe, but not in 2009. In order to support a FF body, you need at least a wide zoom, a standard zoom and a tele zoom. Look at the current DA lens line up, there is not a single zoom that is FF compatible and we all know how fast Pentax is at putting out new lenses.

If they announced today at $3K, I would buy one. It would be cheaper than going Sony as I could use my FAltd lenses (presumable) as well as Zeiss/Voigtlander MF lenses.

If Hoya/Pentax were really organized since the takeover, one could imagine either a 645d or FF body being spun up along with 3 or 4 lenses to match. Could this be why it has taken forever for the announced DA lenses to come out? Probably not, as I figure the reality is that they've just been rather disorganized and dealing with the typical issues that come with a management change...

2/3 of that problem could be solved by rebranding Tamron 28-75/2,8 and 70-200/2,8. I'm not saying it is a likely solution, but it is posible. Both are fine lenses, I've used the 28-75 myself.

I would want a 16-35 to be added to the FF arsenal if they come out with one. I agree that the Tamron 28-75 re-branded would be a great quick fix. It is a spectacular lens. Perhaps they could come up with a USM version of the above.

I am sure they can work with Tokina to co develop the two pro zooms so Tokina will get back into the FF 2.8 zooms arena too. Almost every new Pentax zoom has a Tokina twin.

Also, a 85mm lens please.

Tamron has a 17-35/2,8-4, is that close enough? I've read good reviews on it.
It should solve the last third of the original problem, zoom coverage from 17-200mm. There goes the "Pentax can't support FF lenses argument"

I've been avoiding looking at pics from nikon's d700/d3, but i finally took a look last night on a forum, for the first time(honest!), and.....wow. Thats all i can say.
I really, really, really want a full frame camera. I knew it would have that affect on me
I'm going to wait 1 more year and if pentax doesnt have any ff in the works, or atleast an announcment of ff intentions.......sigh

I voted "no" for several reasons...
1. My shooting needs/wants are being perfectly well met with a cropped sensor. If Pentax would continue to work on improving their cropped sensors, I'd be perfectly happy.
2. Even if I had an overwhelming desire for FF, I doubt I could afford it anyway; I'd probably have to wait for 2 or 3 generations off FF bodies before I could afford a FF body of my own.
3. Never mind FF--that's for the Canikosony crowd. Pentax could really WOW the photography world by passing FF by and heading straight for MF. If Pentax could release the 645D at a price that's competitive with the D700, along with a few new matching lenses to start, that would get a lot of attention. Like all modern Pentax bodies, the 645D would be compatible with the older 645 lenses and 67 lenses (via an adapter). Granted, I couldn't afford that either (short of a major cash windfall), but to see a 645D be released would put a smile on my face. It would definitely put more meaning behind the new Pentax slogan "Be interesting".
