I think it will match nicely with the silver limiteds and some of the more rare telephotos in white. I actually like it for a second body sporting the 31mm.

I voted " None of The Above " !

I think it's a great move . Give the users more choices . It would look great in some lady's hands .

Think about it : The Pentax name has been popping up across the net b/c of this "ugly" white color !

As a print consultant, I did a quick snap poll of creative, graphic designers and marketing people that I met from 3 local design firms yesterday and without exception, all give the white K-m a resounding thumbs up.

Many thought it was a fresh and refreshing take to a consumer product, less intimidating, looked simple to use, easy to customize (with skins), stands out in retail. Almost all thought it was more appealing to those who were women, the youth, tech savvy and generally below 35 and would be right on the money for that demographic. One of the people I spoke to was product designer and as he looked at the pictures, remarked that it was probably white polycarbonate plastic and getting it clean wouldn't be an issue. He told me that Sony actually sells more PSPs in lighter shades than the black version.

Interestingly one of the marketing specialists I spoke to said most men above 40 would probably be adverse to it simply because this segment is generally seen to be conservative and not prepared to accept such a product other than the normal black. How telling and incisive!

I should have looked at the OP's locale....Canada, go figure... Not much else to do in the winter months but bitch about colors, except for brothels and hockey. No offense to other Canucks.
Yeah well I wasn't one bit impressed with this statement and I don't care how you sugar coat it afterward. These are friendly forums and comments like this are not necessary.

I think you have a point there. I showed my wife and I think that was a mistake. Now she's thinking a DSLR would be a good present. She liked it.

You react to someone who didn't like your insulting post with another insulting post, after claiming humour as a defense?

I think we now know who has got the slow neurons, though in your case maybe it's more a matter of genetics than where you live.

That's a joke, BTW. Go on, laugh.

Pentaxians bitch constantly about the lack of action on the part of Pentax's promotion department (if there even is such a thing); and when they finally do something we bitch more!

You can't have it both ways - you can't suck and blow at the same time.

Go ahead - make them in every colour of the rainbow; if it sells more cameras, more power to them!

Jeff, I couldn't agree with you more. And yes make 'em in those metallic colours that are so popular. Somebody mentioned skins, hey why not. They have skin for laptops and cell phones and umpteen other products.

Make a great camera the symbol of the trendy and youthful. Let Pentax become the brand name it once was.

Come on et al....Why is everyone so serious & so sensitive!?!? Several folks seem to have been offended by my sarcasm/reality check, so if you want an apology................. Sheesh.

Now, the OP hasn't replied to me in this thread, so you seem to be offended more than he, and you have replied to me with, guess what, sarcasm , I think, hhhmmm. Does that mean you have stooped to my so called level.
ooops

If the OP wishes to address me, he will. As evidenced by his posts, I'm sure he has the wherewithal to speak on his own behalf and doesn't need your support or defense. Nothing more offensive than that.

Finally, to stop the thread hijack and get back to the point, I vote for speeding up delivery of said white body. I will purchase one, take photos, and help Pentax gain market share. I for one am comfortable enough to carry it_with_my_silver_31_and not worry about what others think.

I'm oooouuuttt

There is also armor available for other makes of dSLR. That way one could go to a press conference and chuck it at the guy if he didn't answer the question.

Note that I said "one" could chuck it nor did I name a speaker. Besides, I'd never chuck my camera.

I've seen this comment made several time on a couple of different forums.

I just wonder what has been said by Pentax that would be the foundation for this?

Or, is it just simply supposition?

If I were a Woman, I would take great offense to this comment.
