can we add a "who cares?" or "None of the above" option to the next poll about the white K-m?

Don't worry guy, the white K-M is only the competitor of G1 olympus who is in several color (red....). They are in the same category: little slr

I don't understand why some people are getting so worked up over this, lots of things use the white plastic look these days. It's not like Pentax have announced that they're only going to produce white cameras from now on. :ugh:

Personally I think the style looks hideous but that just means I won't buy one, not that I have to go on a crusade to tell everyone who thinks it looks good that they're wrong.

Heehee. I think it's that everyone was expecting some big announcement of some technical innovation and this is all it is.

I think it looks kind of cool... I just question Hoya's decision to put the effort into the White lenses, while so many have waited a long time for some of the lenses on the "Roadmap".
But on a marketing level, I think there will be an interest at the entry level for a white camera, but it is the 'limited availability' that I question. I mean if I wanted to buy one for the wife, and the only place it was available was europe... well... thats a problem.

People seem to *respond* to those 'problems.' That's why they say things are 'limited editions' in the first place.

As long as the *metal primes* don't get too 'limited,' I'm cool.

Here's another one!

Minolta even made a white flash!
This system came out long time before iPods, maybe that was the problem.
As far as I know it didn't help Minolta. Hope situation is different now and Pentax is targeting right audience with white K2000.

Maybe this is prophetic Soon mac are bound to fall together with Pentax and everyone who has succumbed to the trend of white electronics!

I hope the next step is a matching white 500mm f4 that weighs less than 10 lbs. I see an awful lot of white lenses, why is a white camera any different?

I dont know man, I just went to the Pentax site and got some more looks at it, and the more I see it the more I like it. If the K30D comes out in a chocie of colors... I may pause before I pull the triger to decide on which color I want. We're already bastards to the world of photogs, why not make them even pissier at us and show up with an orange K30D that rattles off brilliant image after brilliant image!

As I've posted elsewhere, at least it won't melt in the sun as quickly in July should someone leave it on the seat of their car. Its too bad that its not weather sealed, they could sell it with matching snow skis.

Various colors have been used for P&S by several companies including Pentax. This is sort of new ground for a dSLR body.

But Buddha! Orange is simply NOT my color. A nice forest green now... patterns would be interesting too, how about a nice dark walnut wood grain one? Light grey granite? Dark red brick? For the wildlife photogs, a cammo would be cool.
