Okay, I get it. Stealth the PENTAX on the pentaprism for that custom look. But all the printing on dials and buttons, too (black on black)?

To me, that's where function needs priority over aesthetics.
It’s really intended for astro - the black on black is to preserve your night vision.

I love the shade of black with the smooth finish. It's the first time a pentax dslr looks like it's made of metal instead of plastic. But it would look better still with the traditional bright white lettering.

For those who have problems with that Ricoh used braille indications to make the functions clear...

Jet Black should get monochrome sensor to be true Lord Vader, because the soul of the latter is totally black

Haha! But yeah. I still prefer the regular black with white lettering.
I've always been a sucker for the white "Stormtrooper" entry-level models

Hoping that the next FF or 645 camera has this option. I've had to tape and drape in some shots due to reflections---I'd still have to, but maybe not quite so much...

I guess you wouldn't have been in the market for this if they had decided to put it into production then.

Jet black camera would change the light falling on the subject if Jet black camera shape doesn't emit the same light as in absence of camera and photographer, a phenomenon also known as the observer effect (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observer_effect_(physics)).
If you want to photograph a subject as the subject is when you are not there, you need to paint the camera and yourself with the same color as the surroundings (which could be funny).

He would have bought the camera incognito, also known as the furtive customer problem.
