I kinda gave up waiting for the pentax k-m to be generally available in Australia (apart from Teds), let alone in Perth

Even if the K-M is available, it is still too pricey. I was planning to get 1 unit for my wife but i just can't justify this kind of price Teds is selling. In the end, I bought a refurbished Fuji S6500fd bridge camera for my wife instead.

This is just too bad

Things will be better if Harvey Norman or JB Hifi or Officeworks are carrying the stock instead of Teds. They kinda have more competitive prices.

JB HiFi have K200 with Pentax 18-55 kit lens for AU$688.
Incredible bargain for OZ - why would you spend near $1000 for the K-m?
And this is exactly why I bought from JB (but the price was a bit higher at the time, 698). I waited and waited for the K-m, it didnt come except via Teds at that hideous price, and as far as I could see, was under-specced by comparison with the K200D. It became a bit of a no-brainer.
