Well, they've completed the 4-season set of Custom Images … I wonder what'll be next?
Interestingly the supplied HARUBENI example images aren't "straight from the camera" … at least, they don't have the original EXIF attached, so I can't load them into DCU and "pinch" the settings

- Emphasizes the pale pink (red) of cherry blossom petals
- Slightly dull blue that expresses the sky of spring haze
- Creates high-contrast images

This one looks very nice. I have the camera. I have the lens. Tokyo will be full of Cherry blossom very soon. What’s not to like?

Sidenote: Maybe it's been there for a while, but I hadn't noticed rental being offered until visiting your page link just now. Prices very fair too with, for example, the K1III offered at the equivalent of $116/mo USD, minimum 3 months.

As for the firmware I'm hoping we see a 2.x version sometime this year. The number of firmware improvements for the K3III is unheard of for a Pentax camera AFAIK. Fewer models but more engineering attention is great for buyers.

Gotta be one of the most foolish things they've done. makes no sense for these special updates. Why did it have to be lens specific? Is there a workaround to this? Why no Pentax KP involvement? Would if you prefer the older ltm to the newer?

Using DCU it's the work of a few seconds to copy the settings from an image with the attributes and apply them to another image … I've been successful using a "pseudo-KATEN" on images from both my KP and my *istD … I'd imagine the procedure could be replicated for any other setting.

I too feel that these updates are laughable but I guess the people at Ricoh are having some silly fun.
What can I do? Either I ignore the updates or stop buying Pentax but then they do not cost me anything except a bit of time to install.

I think, Pentax want to make the Sound on wihle foccusing with AP-C. Is a better idea as making new picture layouts.
