Nah, a DA 20 XS would not be wild enough. More like a DA 12 XS that can only be used on the K-01, because it protrudes into the place where there isn't a mirror, along the lines of the old Voigtlaender 12 f/5.6:

So it isn't just a new lens but also an indication of a new mirrorless camera!
That would explain everything...

I hope it's not the same fake story as the inexistent Rollei digital TLR...
This little monstrosity did see the light of day.

Unfortunately the Voigtländer 12mm f/5.6 Heliar doesn't perform well on mirrorless systems, peripheral resolution is rather mediocre.

Come on Pentax do something cracked out like Björk at a met gala: make a 28-50mm f/2.8 tilt shift zoom lens!

Please stop giving them ideas, I still need to decide whether I need to splurge on the DFA 21

Pentax probably sits on a pile of at least 10 fully developed but unreleased camera and at least 1000 lenses, completely exasperated: "Can't we at least release something? They still didn't save enough money?"
We have to get better at saving.

I can’t see what your problem is.

My saving target had easily included the DFA 21 in 2022, but it turns out that adding 100€+ of extra fuel and food costs a month because of inflation wasn't the best of things . I also had a kerfuffle with losing my FA 43 (though I recovered it months later, so I really should put the second one up for sale here but I've been procrastinating on it) and having to CLA the 77 and Tamron macro, so the photography budget went there . This year I'll most likely get it.

I'd be surprised if Pentax released a modern tilt/shift lens. It would be neat, but I don't expect a significant demand, especially with the ability to already do this built into the K-1: Composition Adjustment/Sensor Shift...are you using it? - PentaxForums.com.

Composition adjustment is good to have, but only gets you as far as the lens image circe will allow. I have the old K28 Shift lens, and it will do a lot more, even if it’s a little dodgy close to the edges on the extreme settings.

I imagine you’re correct, though, with the small market for such a lens. The days of the philosophy (well, the advertisement, anyway) behind offering the K15 in spite of the tiny sales numbers are well behind us.

the in camera shift capability is nice to have, but isn't really a substitute for the capabilities of a tilt/shift lens.
