Wild Pentax lens rumour from Kimio Tanaka

The following rumour is to be taken with a grain of salt, not because of the source –Kimio Tanaka is perfectly legit– but because Tanaka-san says so himself:
QuoteOriginally posted by Kimio Tanaka:

Translation: 'I heard a rumour that PENTAX will soon be releasing a lens with "weird = unusual = innovative" specifications, and while I am excitedly looking forward to this, it shall be taken with a grain of salt (or it might be a "fake news").'

Since this short sentence includes a couple of slang terms and idiomatic expressions, I would very much appreciate people whose Japanese command is far superior to mine ( @JPT @kwb I'm looking at you ) reviewing my attempted translation.

Anyway, I very much prefer to report on such a rumour, however wild or poorly translated it might be, than on Ricoh Imaging discontinuing yet another Pentax lens.

I'll agree, this is far more interesting...

What is "gaseneta"? I'm guessing that falls into the realm of idiomatic expression...
Does it translate as "fake news" or something more entertaining?

In this day and age a weird lens is small, light and affordable.😊

I thought it might be a shift lens, hopefully 24.136mm FL (the idiosyncratic bit)

Interesting. I wonder if it could be something along the lines of it having optical image stabilization that will work in conjunction with the body's SR mechanism. That would be quite innovative for Pentax. It would be the only DSLR system with IBIS & OIS lenses. Hmmmmmmmmmm..... ? But yeah. Who knows.

ガセネタ means disinformation, faked information, bogus intelligence. I chose 'fake news' to translate it.

There is a rumor to that effect, I think based on patents from a few months ago.

Yes, suppose 70-300? was to be ILIS+IBIS lens Olympus style and was also, supposedly, delayed because of issues in lens-body coordination.

It will be very innovative for Pentax and actually any brand as there is no SLR camera with such system. Though Pentax may also propose some sort of weird optical system or something else. I suppose patent researches among us could point on some sort of lens.

Anyway - I am more excited that Pentax "may" (or not) announce a lens, then about the lens itself.

Thanks @Mistral75 for posting this.

Between November 2018 and February 2021 Ricoh Imaging filed four patent applications, which include 20 examples of 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lenses with in-lens stabilisation.

I, for one, would be very much interested in a 70-300 full frame compatible, variable aperture zoom. Doesn't need OS for me, although it would nice to have it.

Read the design story of the DFA 21 and you know that all Pentax lenses are weird.
