My point... pretty much
everything is more expensive these days. Add in a shrinking digital photography market and the need for companies to recoup R&D costs on new products, and it's no surprise that photography gear - Pentax included - has risen in price

Pre-pandemic, I bought six-pack rolls of toilet paper in "double" size rolls (I don't know if I have ever seen what the ISO standard roll is for comparison).
Now it's these absurd 16-packs (or more) of "MEGA" rolls that are all that's available since the pandemic (equivalent to 112 regular rolls or some such).
They don't fit the roll holders in my 70-year old bathroom, and they make it look like my household has some exotic digestive disease.
Plus, they are on the order of $18 a pack...
Cameras and lenses look almost reasonable...
I suppose I should be happy that the toilet paper isn't made by Adobe, or it would be by subscription...
