But more fps would be my wish.
Nope:

Same resolution (K20D) - better dynamic range and/or ISO
New revision of sensor or updated firmware

21 fps burst mode -> 25 fps FullHD video with sound input from the video out jack.
Change firmware to alter live view stream to 25 fps (And full HD if possible). An option for burst or movie? (K20D has burst 21 fps allready)
Must change electronics for dual usage of the video out / sound in connection. - $$

I haven't tested K20D, but I would like something close to the Digital Rebel / EOS 400D
QuoteQuote:
Faster autofocus, and correct regardless of lighttemperature.
New circuitry - $$$
QuoteQuote:
Built in focus assist lamp.
Small body modification. Some electronics. - $

Bigger, brighter viewfinder.
New design - $$$$

A lot of this can be implemented for a little $ - so it should be far from a $6000 camera.

small form factor (Pentax is already on the right track.) interchangeable finders. I still don't know why nobody is doing this, but I want it ala the LX and I hope Pentax is the first to implement it. beyond that im already happy, and will remain so with or without.

I can't believe that (at the time this was posted) over 45% of you "expect" full-frame form (sic) the new Pentax D-SLR. I'm not saying it can't happen...but "expect?" The question wasn't "wish."

The other three items are far, far more likely IMO.

why don't we send a petition directly to the director of hoya and pentax about our requirements?
May be if they know what their faithful fan want, they could ear us?

Pointless to send requests to Pentax ?

As you can see on bottom of this Km white dslr for japan market only page pentax logo is a "Hoya Company" & not a pentax company

So I think all decisions are Hoyas to make:

PENTAX?K-m white ???????????????????????PENTAX

I've been following the work of users of the ever increasing selection of FF bodies out there and its clear to me that the extra working distance translates into better depth of field. I can not deprive myself of this any longer. I will wait for the next round of body announcements from Pentax and Samsung, then choose a FF body. I hope its got K-mount, it would make my life easier.

I still like that idea, thanks for keeping it in my mind. I know though, that it would only ever be a secondary thing for me. The conveniences of digital are indeed great.

How is it going for you? Did you get the medium format too?

EDIT: you know, Pentax would actually have an untapped market niche with a full frame sensor in a cost effective body with SR. Only Sony has FF with SR, but its flagship pricing. God, I hope they make one, lol.

83% of all statistics are made up

given his assumption that 90% of us will be disappointed,

theoretically Ogl's statement would lead to the conclusion that about 15% of us would be disappointed,

not bad really....

Yes Sir, I think you're absolutely correct.

It doesn't matter what Pentax offers in its next iteration of the KxxD series, it will not be enough.

The AF won't be fast enough, the VF will be too small, FPS won't be enough, ISO won't go to 64,000, the buffer won't hold 11,000 shots before filling, the live view won't be adequate, the LCD will be inadequate and, and the menus will be too hard to navigate.

And, even if all of that is covered, there won't be an adequate variety of lens for it.

Yep, about 90% will be corrrect.

Move sideways.

The only thing I'd like to change in the K20D is better lowlight AF (of course), and better AWB under all lighting conditions.

But more than that, I'm interested in a sideways move hinted at by Samsung a few months back. Namely, a small EVF camera that I can stick my pancake lenses on and run around incognito, snapping away to my heart's content, à la the new micro four thirds cameras. Whether Pentax or Samsung makes it, I don't really care, though. Just as long as it's a k mount.
