I am pretty happy with all the bells and whistles of my K20D. To be honest, the only thing I would like to see in a new body (or maybe through firmware update on the K20D) is a wider dinamic range. How wide.... don't ask me how many stops wide, just give me as wide as any regular 400 iso negative film dynamic range.

If its about the hardware, then I would like to see a wider view viewfinder (give me a K20D with an MX viewfinder....

Perhaps a bit faster fps (5 or 6).

A better Af system for focus tracking fast objects.

How about a good and very fast 8 Gb internal memory? That can be used for regular shooting with a regular usb plug to transfer pics to removable flash drive.

A camera with AUTOFOCUS ( cuz i'm already good with manual focus after years using medium format?) be great for a start. Then they could work on something else like sensor, lcd, fps, noise reduction, higher sync speed = 1/250. Do u want more features?

For the K20 successor

I expect an lcd of the same size or just slightly larger, but at least double the resolution.... 2.7" to 3" LCD with 460k pixels are really nice and quite affordable for a manufacturer to produce.

Revamped live view with contrast AF and live histogram and more options

Revamped menu system much like the K2000

More frames per second

Couple new features unannounced.

Keep all the good current features that do not need improving.

Thats what I'd do if I were Pentax. The K20 while perfectly fine all said and done by my standards does feel a bit unfinished. This is because it offers so much for the dollar in its class. As prices come down and tech becomes again more affordable so do features to be added to a DSLR. Standard Operating Procedure.

A viewfinder, controls for aperture, ISO and shutter speed, a button to work the shutter.
Oh! and a hole in the front that I can cover with a lens.

I'm happy with 14.6Mega pixels.
More dynamic range I'd love.
I higher res screen at 3" would be good too.
Better low light focusing obviously.
An upgraded menu would be a smart idea for Pentax, but really that's just icing as I seem to find my way round the camera ok.
FPS is mostly ok with me.
APS-H would be interesting, although I'm not sure a wise choice.
A larger/fast ram buffer should be easy enough to bring to the game.

For Pentax, a new body design might just give a bit more marketing punch on release...
That's mostly it I think.

I just hope they don't go the way of Canon and Nikon where nothing important gets updated between models.

Gerbil SCN mode. It's a combination of macro and pet modes.

To be disappointed!
There, I said it before the regular downers had a chance to. I hope I stole their thunder enough for them to be quiet.
