It's a glossy white?

Ugh, definitely no thanks. And I was on the fence about the Km-W.

I do like the E70...might have to check it out.

Does anyone know what lens that is behind the white lens sitting on the table? Looks like an 85mm?

The picture is quite bad but my guess is that it is a DA17-70 with the lens shade put on in protective mode. There is no way Pentax would launch such a new lens at CES and without any warning!

Engadget says: "Let's just say this straight out: the white Pentax K2000 is one of the hottest DSLRs we've ever seen. It's seriously lustworthy."

Well...I guess people who said this was ridiculous have to eat crow. Their gambit seems to be working (and I truly hope it does so they can gain market share...they really need to get it into Best Buy or Ritz or the Apple store to have it work well, so the "white is cool" crowd can touch it and fondle it :-)

AFAIK there will be only a 3000 piece limited edition so I guess it's not about market shar but about gaining brand awareness. I would like to see many more colors for the K-m especially ones that will match pretty well with a black lens. This I think will increase market share in the same way it helped Pana G1.

so, what we got here? (from left to right)
front row: white K-m + both white DA L lenses, black K-m with DA* 55, K20 with grip + DA* 60-250
second row: something that indeed looks like 17-70 with it's hood in storage position. the other lens looks like 18-55 to me.

i think white K-m just looks glossy, all those lights are reflecting from otherwise matte body, giving the illusion of glossy surface.

does this proves that DA* 60-250 really exists? or is it still a yeti-lens?

Let's play 'What lens is that...'

Judging by the bulbous internal element I would say a wide angle zoom of some sort - definitely NOT an 85, and besides, I thought it was coming out as a DA*55.

(*&@#*$&@#(*% white ******* cameras, when they can't even make them focus properly...

I'd love a close up shot of the information board of the TC next to the 60-250mm. Looks like a 1.4x or 1.5x to me.
