The bokeh is not 50 mm's lenses. It's that I expected.
The resolution and contast wide-opened are better than FA50. IMO.

A bit of CA in the last shot

Some beautiful shots!! That last one of the Nikon camera produced quite a bit of CA. this sort of surprises me.

hmm. Seems fine, nothing really that stands out to me here. Perhaps I'm spoiled by the Nokton. Its good to see Pentax releasing fully modernized primes though, it certainly gets them attention.

Cool? So it comes with it's own HVAC system? That might explain the huge size of it...

And the good news go on for me. My dealer here in Germany had a special price deal last october. The DA*55 pre order for 429,-- Euros than the list price of 529,--. This week Pentax Germany highers the list price up to 649,-- Euros!! But today Pentax gives OK to my dealer that the special price of 429 from October is fix for the pre ordered deals!

Even thought these two images did not really reveal much about boke there.

I already see warning signs of Nissen Bokeh already. Double tramtrack outlining are evident in some areas. I am having palpitations now.

.

Images are watermarked, so here are the medium sized links:

As Kelly said, pretty good, but no great shakes. I think it's like the images
on the Korean forums from the Samyang/Polar 85 1.4 - the real quality
of the lens can't be seen with these snapshots.

But it looks promising.

I really hope that they had build this lens with future sensors in mind and it will be an improvement over the low contrast and poor resolution FA50 has under f2. Also I hope it's FF optimized (I've been told so) and it will perform better with higher resolution sensors both in center and borders.
