More like a very poorly done photomanipulation.

EDIT: If it's the real thing, that will be one UGLY bridge camera.

Interchangeable lenses would be very interesting, but I imagine it will be fixed lens.

The "macro" button pretty much guarantees this.

Having played with a lot of bridge cameras, I'd say that picture looks perfectly legit and as far as looks go I'd call it about average for the bridgecam segment. Those of us used to the handsome lines of pentax DSLRs would find most bridgecams ugly.

If that's purely photomanipulation, then it was *very* well done. I spent 14 years as a digital retoucher (product and fashion) and I can't see a single pixel or element that looks "cut and pasted" in that image. The cleanup looks limited to the left edge highlight, the screen, and the rubber eyecup/ viewfinder opening (rubber always looks like poop - attracts dust) - otherwise the shading, highlights and textures are all accurate. (And since I now do 3D rendering for product designers, I can say it isn't just CGI either.)

So I think its real (and not entirely ugly from this side). Not sure I like the "happy icon" for face-detection, but whatever works...

...but it won't be a reflex.

My local sales rep tells me that at the PMA Pentax will show a bridge camera a la Lumix FZ-28 or Oly SP570, and that we'll have to wait until May-June for a new reflex. He has zero info about the new reflex.

Soooooo...... It seems i was right!!!

Apology, anyone??

Since this bridgecam is legit, I think there is no chance of a Pentax DSLR announce in PMA.
