As far as I know they will match any non sale internet price.
Cool. Nice to know. Also at some locations there are some obscure lenses like the SMC Pentax-FA 28-80mm F3.5-5.6 selling for 99.00 cad dollars (currently)at the granville and georgia branch. Also, seen some bad sigma zooms with Pentax mounts and a bad FAJ type zoom at the Ironwood one in Richmond or was it the no. 3 road one in the past. Anyways, surprised they had Pentax of anything at the time and had my interest piqued because it was an FA type of lens. Guess they were so bad of a zoom that it was left til now.

I have an FA J 75-300 and I refer to it as the FA Junk lens. The 55-300 is far better.

It is so obvious comparing what Sony has done, even when it's market share was far behind Pentax not too long ago.
Looking at the red figures of Sony sales, they came on shelves and they are left there.

Hi zntgrg

The small matter of a world recession might just have a teensy little bit to do with the copious amounts of red ink that are currently bleeding all over Sony's balance sheets, but it would seem that this particular corporation's woes are far more deep seated than that.
I'm afraid I've simply lost count of the number of people I've spoken to during casual conversations over the past few decades who have experienced reliability issues concerning many of the products that Sony make. This situation has been further compounded by a truly lousy and unsatisfactory repair service when things go wrong a few months/years down the road.
The uncomfortable truth of the matter for Sony is that the world has since moved on and nowadays there are numerous world-class manufacturers in countries elsewhere such as South Korea who are fully capable of making things much better and far cheaper, without the expensive premium price tag that Sony attaches to their products. Period.
Admittedly their designs are often innovative, but regrettably Sony also tend to specialise in developing infuriating proprietary connectors etc, in a brazen attempt to screw customers into paying over the odds for those essential little extras....not forgetting their exorbitant proprietary memory sticks as yet another example of what I'm on about. Sorry, but I've simply refused to play their stupid little games over the past 30 years or so and I'm not about to change the habits of a lifetime, so I always avoid this stuff like the proverbial plague......once bitten etc ! As far as I'm concerned, I will never ever knowingly buy another Sony product even if it means "cutting off my nose to spite my face" and that includes any of their FF DSLR offerings....end of story !

You do realize your two K10D use Sony Sensors?

I can appreciate banning Sony from your shopping list along with others who are dissatisfied. They never bit me. I don't recall ever buying a Sony logo'd product. I guess I could not afford the Sony premium and bought other brands instead. However my two Samsung GX-1S aka Pentax DS2 dslr clones I believe use Sony Sensors since the DS2 used the 6mp sony sensor. I see you own a pair of K10D, and they do use Sony Sensors.

I have always felt if it weren't for Sony, Pentax may never have made inroads into dslr production as they relied on Sony to supply all their sensors up to K20D who Samsung now provides sensors to Pentax. Correct me if I am wrong. Isn't every Pentax dslr except for K20D outfitted with Sony manufactured sensors? Sure there were other sensor makers like Kodak but thats not who Pentax sourced their sensors from.

I wonder where pentax would be now without Sony manufactured sensors?

Hi Samsungian

I was in fact only too aware of the Sony components concealed inside the pair of K10D bodies which I currently own, but would naturally have preferred the situation to be otherwise, such as in the case of the later Samsung-equipped K20D ! However the excellent ergonomics and solid handling of the K10D caused me to overlook this slight anomaly.......lol ! However although I could never entertain the prospect of going down the evil route of C***n, I have to admit that N***n's latest FF offerings hold a certain allure. What's more if they had in-body SR, I might seriously have jumped ship by now ! Come on now Pentax, don't hold us all in suspense much longer. How about making something with which to compete in the same FF arena ? You know many of us are waiting patiently and the clock is now ticking....

The Sony sensor is my only concern with my K10D. I have had problems with Sony products over the years, to the point that I try to avoid them if I can. I'm pleased that Pentax went over to a Samsung product with the K20D.
