Great news!

Wow this is great!

It says in store, so does this also apply if we purchase online?

And how does this rebate work? It says instant rebate. Does the price on amazon right now already reflect the $100 rebate or not?

If anybody know which stores/ online stores that has this rebate can you please post it here so everybody can take advantage to this offer?

Thanks for posting.

That's weird...K20D is $999 at B&H and $975 at Adorama...then they take the $100 rebate off.
Glad I got the x-mas deal on it instead... :-P

I take it the new K300(d) will be in smaller size and without a battery grip? Smaller size is always good news to me.

Exactly..that's what I was thinking too.

Few days ago I think I saw the price around $800 on B&H for K20D body only.
Then yesterday the price went up to $900 ish, now I know why.

It's actually $809 at B&H, but you have to put it in your cart to see that price.

After rebate K20D is $120 more than I paid in Nov 2008.

I suppose its a special. Wasn't K20D just $742 last week at B&H? No regrets getting mine for $689 10 weeks ago with same 3 year warranty deal. This price cut seems like a solid 15% price increase to me. I have a good feeling I caught the market low on K20D. Which makes up for not buying a K10D for $509 when they were current. Lesson learned from that mistake. Pentax prices increase on dwindling dslr stock pile before next model launches, from what I've noticed.

Now if K20D was $742 less $100= $642 I'd consider getting a second one as that would be $47 less that the last one cost me. I'm not in the mood to buy a second with a rebate special for $120 more than I paid for one already.

I know I wish I had pulled the trigger on that package Adorama had with K20D, a spare battery, free housing for a year, a camera bag, memory card, hookers and blow, and whatever else was in it for right around $700.

A three year warranty is a great thing.

So what lenses have rebates? I am looking for a prime lens, so I am curious.

I suppose she'll kick my *** at somepoint but

She really LOVES K20D and it was a total surprise when I bought it prior to cashing out all our Pentax goodies. K20D is an exceptional camera, so feature rich and a heck of a deal at $689 or less. I'm glad I got it before I sold off my Pentax and K Mount accumulation of lenses. If I ever cash out of K Mount I won't be back. Buying used glass from a dozen+ sellers isn't always fun or as described. I've gotten burned on more misdescribed pentax ebay items than my prior 15 years of shopping for used canon and nikon and olympus gear. And with Pentax offering weather sealed dslrs I assume more older lenses will succumb to fungus and related wet weather damage.

I have no intentions of buying a 2nd D700 or a 3rd 5D. I have been considering a Panasonic G1 to use my old canon FD telephotos with but missed out when they were $450 to $480. Now at $599 I lost interest in impulse buying it. I opted for Nikon D700 instead. I figure I'll get a 5D Mark II right before Christmas 2009 thru Spring 2010. I'm not real excited about having a 21mp camera so I may skip it entirely.

Really though unless I see an incredible price on anything equiptment wise I'm fine with withdrawing from buying new stuff. Thats the nice thing about having 6 dslrs, getting a 7th one isn't vital. Nor is getting another full frame needed with 3 onhand. The current K20D special at $120 more than I paid is easy to pass on but may represent the best deal for 2009? I'd say wait till the promo is almost over for a better price on it. Its a shame they raised the price before the rebate, but thats money in my pocket instead of theirs.
