Why so much agression against one, poor camera that doesn't even exist yet (not offically, at least)?

If it had:

weather sealing (must have, I'm not interested otherwise),
decent wide-angle lens,
manual mode,
mechanical zoom (would be nice, but not a deal breaker),

it could be a great travel/holiday camera.
I would buy one for those situations I can't (or don't want) to take a DSLR with me.

Yes, weather sealing would really be nice. Let's hope Pentax had the foresight to differentiate their superzoom offering with that feature. Put me down for one if it had it and decent photo quality.

My guess is that it is a revamped Nikon P90 (same sensor, same zoom) so no weathersealing and no manual zooming.

It also looks like the screen is smaller and they say nothing about it being orientable.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if there is something else behind the curtain for PMA.

If not, I am not the least bit worried about what will come onto the market over the next 3-6 months.

As much as I am wanting to see this camera also marketed by Pentax, it really doesn't seem it is going to be the case.

The Samsung looks like a 100% Samsung product (proprietary flash hot shoe, no SR, different mount), I still have some hopes for a Pentax sister cam but they are thining...

Yeah. This is Samsung declaring that they don't need Pentax anymore. And if it's successful (not sure that it will be given the competition) it's bad news for K-mount in general as I bet Samsung will focus all of their efforts in this direction.

Depends on the mount, as I know we don't know anything about the mount so far.

Pentax K300D

Then some new Pentax lenses.

Not completely sure about the K3D, but I have a guess that that will be the semi pro, or pro Pentax camera, with a full frame sensor.
