If it was interchangeable lens (µ4/3) it wouldn't have the dedicated "macro" button, as the first post notes. It's a fixed lens superzoom, which is fair enough if they do it right. They'll have a hard time distinguishing it market- and pricewise from the K-m though.

has anyone else noticed that for a super-zoom bridge camera, there isn't any way to actually zoom using buttons on the back of that mock-up?

hmmmmmmmmm....maybe it'll be more dslr-like that we think.

Wishful thinking. Neither of Nikon's rebadged Olympus super zooms have direct zoom buttons on the back either (I assume they use the dial or something)

This is all ridiculous. Stop wasting internet bandwidth and SQL database space on discussing this image that popped up on Colorfoto.

Someone took a Nikon P80 and superimposed a K-m back on it. The body is exactly the same shape and orientation as the Nikon (with the viewfinder in the same spot). They didn't even bother changing the Nikon-style square-ribbed control dial on top with the pentax-style one. You can also see blending lines between the two images.

If Pentax comes out with an high-end P&S, it'll be more akin to the Panasonic LX3 / Leica D-LUX 4-style compact.

Pentax introducing a super-zoom would be as likely as Leica introducing an autofocus D-SLR.

Thank you jay, obviously I wasn't clear enough that this is just a fake K-m shot.

PS: Olympus UZ zooms by wire and the controls are on the lens or on the front button (similar to Pentax's ON/OFF switch). Depends on which UZ from Oly you're looking at.

I believe Minolta once made a superzoom that relies on a zoom ring on the lens barrel itself to, well, zoom. I think it was the A2. That could be another possibility.

Of course, that all hinges if the picture was even legit or not. We'll see. Only a couple more hours, anyway.

This is clearly not a faked image.

For added convinience, I superimposed both images. Both cameras (Nikon P90 and Pentax bridge) are very similier -- but different. Their shapes don't match.

The Pentax bridge seems to be narrower and taller, too.

It seems more likely it was some sort of a mistake at the website with image placement than someone planting a fake. There are lots of better ways of calling attention to a fake image, though I do wonder who noticed this in the first place.

As my interest in a bridge camera, from any manufacturer, hovers around zero, I can't care too much one way or another. But, should Pentax get into this market it will be in accord with their previous (vague) announcements. I do recall one about a brand new product line. And I do recall a mention of targeting a bigger market.

That this is a fixed lens EVIL design is obvious from the controls. Note the dedicated macro button.

On the up-side, but purely hypothetically, maybe this technology could be later leveraged into a k-mount camera?
