Wow, that's a bit high - I was hoping for around $400 - which I'm sure in about 6-12 months, it will be.

Presuming the price falls in a year or so as it has with prior Pentax lenses, the price looks about right in line.

Ouch! $650 USD...with the CDN exchange rate down the toilet its way out of my reach. I will get it right away if its about the same price as the DA 35 ltd. Oh well.....back to the waiting game...

When the DA35 first came out, I remember it had a MSRP of around $600. Within a year, you could get it from prodigital2000 for $300. Hope the DA15 will follow a similar trend.

Yes, but only if the Euro and USD gain something to the Yen. Otherwise we will all (EU and N.A. and most likely Aus) pay more for most lenses.

If it's better than the DA 12-24 ... which I think it is ... I'm willing to replace my zoom for another ltd.

That's a very likely scenario, because this lens is probably as sweet as it looks.

The price hit me too but it will go down, no doubt.

Isn't that one of those bait-and-switch scam sites?

Not at all. They are wonderful to buy from and have prices that can't be beat for new gear. Very friendly too.

That's MSRP - the street price will be lower. This is cheaper than I was expecting, so I'm pleased and ready to buy.

Given that the 16-45 is supposed to be nearly distortion free on the wide end, can someone explain the rationale of a prime that is 1mm wider, no faster, and twice the cost?
