Yes, that's right, as soon as Ned deletes his Leica post, all the woes of Pentax will disappear! He is the one to blame!! His magic causes entire economies to tumble in his wake!!

Oh yes his pictures are all so crap -- not! They are exactly like what most people enjoy taking... holiday snaps, big birds on piers, that sort of thing. If he was an art photographer I bet he would get criticisms for not being populist enough, for being elite and out of touch. Yes, there is always something to bitch at for those with no perspective.

Ned is, apparently, a real person who enjoys photography, not just a brand obsessed fan-boy. Some people get all irked by that. Not me. I actually respect him more than I would otherwise. If he says a lens is good or a camera is worth trying I will now grant him more credence.

Any other camera president I would just dismiss as a marketing drone. (Until proven otherwise.)
Well said.

Unfortunately, though, I don't think it really matters — Pentax USA doesn't seem to have much influence over what comes out of Japan. Marketing seems to be the only semi-independent function they have.

Pentax USA can't even provide some of the technical information about their flashes I asked for, because Pentax Japan won't tell them.

How to trust Pentax USA if the President is openly using the products of another Japanese photographic company...

I like his Maverick "Don't Give a F'ck" attitude. If he could just translate that in to the Pentax Marketing approach that would be perfect..."Rock and Roll"

BE BOLD.

BE CURIOUS.

BE ________________

INTERESTING.

Who are the edgy consumers that will buy Pentax in five years when old f#$%'s like me are beyond consumption? (well, we're already beyond consumption).

It feels to me as if Pentax is trying to find them, but doesn't really know how.

ok, if you're a Brit that statement is ok. If you're a Yank, I'd suggest therapy or perhaps something from the specialty porn section.
Since he is in Wisconsin, there is a good chance he is a Yank!
