Ned's been recalled to defend Japan? Holy crap, I thought Ned was just a regional PR guy!

Maybe that's the problem, he's regional. He certainly doesn't do anything in the southeast. However, if Pentax goes under in Japan, Ned won't be needed in Colorado.

Edit: Maybe Ned should be worried if he gets a Sword in the mail from Tokyo.

I could say that you are all a bunch of losers and have a self esteem problem and feel that you are not worthy of the best, thus the choice of Pentax and that due to an anally retentive upbringing you had to rely on those that were not very reliable and thus your feelings of self loathing and bed wetting tenancies led you to a life of feeling outcast from the norm and thus your feeling that I must band with those of like kind and for epistemological reasons you decided to study quantum physics just to impress the chicks and when that didn't work you went to a camera store and said "give me a camera any camera, I want to take pictures of chicks!" and when the camera salesman knew you knew Nuthin' about photography sold you a lost leader with the name Pentax on it and you thought, "sounds like Tampax" and that's a good start and took it home.
LOL!!!

And here I thought it was just that the Pentax K1000 was the only thing I had enough money for in 1978 when I was upgrading from my father's Argus-C

If that d**** Pentax company had only changed their lens mount a couple of times like N* or C* I'd have had an excuse to change and buy a REAL camera! And hang out with REAL photographers! Instead I'm stuck here!

(My contribution to getting to 5 pages!)

Edit - OK, I'm sorry I can't let this go, but:

ummm - I studied quantum chemistry

and when that didn't work you went to a camera store and said "give me a camera any camera, I want to take pictures of chicks!"
my roomie had a Tak 70-210 zoom, which I paired with a 2x converter... 30 years ago, taken through a window from across a street...

Hey, it worked, I married one of the young women in the pic 8 years later!

LOL. He must have spent outrageous amount of money to adapt his 28-105 L Canon glass to Nikon body. Tell him it is chipper to just use L glass with Canon body. And overall ergonomics is definitely better this way.
I'm sorry... I went for the C* but struck the N*. Feel free to commence the flogging.

ok, if you're a Brit that statement is ok. If you're a Yank, I'd suggest therapy or perhaps something from the specialty porn section.

I do not understand the s**t about Ned using an dl4. Its a great camera that does not compete with Pentax. It just proves the guy is a photographer. (I relize this has been rehashed again and again - had to add my 2 cents)

I can't wait for Ned's review of the S-system and the M8.2

Pentax doesn't compete in those segments either!

They will compete pretty soon with S-system.

No, no they won't.

Pentax will release a 645 camera with an MF sensor. The S-system's sensor is roughly between FF and 645 in size. (maybe?)

So you see, they are completely different tools for different purposes and comparisons are impossible to make. Just like you could never compare an advanced P&S like the Leica Digilux Whatever to a Pentax Optio W60, because they were created for different intents markets.

(words in italics are sarcastic)

The negativity of some people on this forum is unbelievable. I suppose it's so much easier to criticize mindlessly than to look at the positive.

Yes, that's right, as soon as Ned deletes his Leica post, all the woes of Pentax will disappear! He is the one to blame!! His magic causes entire economies to tumble in his wake!!

oh the one who takes terrible pics and makes free advertisement for leica in his blog?
Oh yes his pictures are all so crap -- not! They are exactly like what most people enjoy taking... holiday snaps, big birds on piers, that sort of thing. If he was an art photographer I bet he would get criticisms for not being populist enough, for being elite and out of touch. Yes, there is always something to bitch at for those with no perspective.

Ned is, apparently, a real person who enjoys photography, not just a brand obsessed fan-boy. Some people get all irked by that. Not me. I actually respect him more than I would otherwise. If he says a lens is good or a camera is worth trying I will now grant him more credence.

Any other camera president I would just dismiss as a marketing drone. (Until proven otherwise.)
