Have some faith. Look ahead. The world economy is not ending.

As we read this the seeds of recovery are germinating. Smart companies that did not lever themselves are investing now for 2010 and beyond.

I play at photography. I finance for a living.

This really sounds like sour grapes... you need to look beyond your now discontinued K100D...

2010 is not far-off, really. It's a positive development.

Sorry, folks - it's my fault.
I told them I won't have enough money until 2010 and they decided to wait for me

cool!

But 55 mm normal...? That could indicate a smaller sensor than the rumoured 48x36 size, maybe the 45x35 Kodak sensor of the Leica S2? (On the other hand, the 55 mm was developed already some while ago, if the use 48x36 it will be slightly wide (a 40 mm in 35mm terms) but still within the normal range)

Btw. the japanese version: ???? ?????? ???? 2009??????????PENTAX shows pictures! Looks a little different from previous pictures, I think.

Also on the japanese site: "Titan" edition of K20D and "olive" edition of K200D, plus the announcement of the cease of production of 645NII and 67II.

(EDIT: Ah, I see that's already in the official news section. The titan K20D looks really pretty!)

I analyzed the whole thing in another thread.
We can consider it will have a 1.3x crop from base 645 film area.
Still waaaaaay bigger than FF.

FF is the 4/3 of 645D

i have looked past my K100D, i barely use it anymore.
maybe a tad pessimistic on my part ... but i am not optimistic about the future of pentax, not so much based on the economy. but let's not turn it into one of those threads, just my opinion anyways.

What does "designed for exclusive use with the PENTAX 645 Digital" even mean in this context? Smaller image circle? Why, then, is it a "D FA 645" and not a "DA 645", as to be consistent with Pentax naming schemes?

Well maybe it means that it works well with the old Pentax 645, just like DFA 100mm Macro works well with Pentax film camera and DSLR. Yet still need to market the new lens as it is NEW lens :P and I am sure they have make changes to the coating and stuff.

The way I see it is that it's possibly SDM only, making AF impossible on older 645 bodies.
