You can always drive to Germany to grab one here when one of those infamous markets (Saturn, Mediamarkt) run their 299€ K-m kit sales... (includes 19% VAT)

I was referring to this figure because it tells us how much money Pentax makes at most when they sell one. The rest is dealer margin.

Pentax is missing the boat, marketing wise. If their ad people would hang out on a few gun or knife forums they would know that they could probably double the sales of the regular version if they advertised it as "Tactical Black".
They could charge more for the feature "Tactical Black"

Maybe. Their offers are limited to a few cities at a time only. And they don't ship...

It looks like this canteen in the shape of a K-M with an orange stripe .

Oh - heh... the old camouflage joke - oops .

I thought maybe they took down the pics (and I even theorized that I could see it still since I had the photos cached - put some thought into it I did ).

The Alien Bees studio strobes come in Yellow, Orange, Pink, White and Black and they are the hottest thing going for the hip young start up pros. A studio quality camera in matching colors might be just the ticket for putting Pentax back on the hip young start up pro's map.

On the other hand, I've never chosen a single tool based on color in my life. Not one tool, of any kind, ever (gels excepting). I may scratch my licence number on them or splotch an ugly color of paint on them to make them less vulnerable to thieves but if the color doesn't serve a vital function who cares? Seriously.

some people are not content with a white picket fence

if i'm going to bust down cash on a nifty piece of technology, i would like as much customization as possible.

That isn't as bad as I thought it would be - I expected an actual camo pattern.
