The translation is pretty bad, but the picture of the K20D with the adapter PF-CA35 and this huge Pentax spotting scope was interesting. Not a bad display in a down year. Course what would be more interesting is some idea of where Pentax is headed in the future. Perhaps too early in this show for that info to make its way out.

I ran the babelfish and Google translation side by side. The Google translation made a lot more sense. And Pentax was translated Pentax, not pen tax

Video! Either that or its not the completed design and they haven't figured out what's going on those buttons yet. But if it is video, you heard it here first.

Some Pentax 645D info at PIE2009 Tokyo - Photo.net Medium Format Forum I have absolutely no idea on how credible this is, but the guy says that the Pentax rep suggested a price point around 10.000$

Thanks for the link. Interesting read.

I made this price prediction myself here:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/535008-post28.html

So, it sounds perfectly credible to me.

And how could a reply be misunderstood, by a Japanese, listenting to a Japanese Pentax rep, saying "we want it to be under 1,000,000 yen"?

And this is $10,000 indeed.

So, from now on, we may refer to it as the 645D$10k (tentative name)

Not too sure where I had read this (probably here somewhere) but it was said the buttons were for choosing either CF or SD slots. Since SD is coming out with a new high density format Pentax will be going strictly SD format upon release thus the covering of the buttons.

if that price point is in fact accurate, I think Pentax will sell a very large number of these. despite what some might think, Pentax is still known for its medium format cameras, and a digital MF with that excellent kodak sensor, excellent Pentax lenses, backwards compatibility with older 645 lenses and a price that isn't astronomical..yea, it will be the best digital MF on the market concerning bang for your buck. a Pentax staple. I hope Pentax can keep up with lens production....
