US K10D Release date deleayed until December

On the japan site of Pentax there is the list of accessories for the new K10D. There are 3 focusing screen and a stereoscopic adapter for 3d shot.

Why the $%^& don't they offer a screen with a microprisim for manual focus? The success of the KatzEye screens ought to give them a hint, don't you think?

the link shows the battery grip released on the same date as the camera in japan. I wonder we will be able to get the battery grip from bhphoto or not ?

I would love that extra grip to handhold the cam

Both B&H and Adorama have adjusted their estimated sale date from November 11 to early December.

They're still saying late November here in Australia, but I don't believe it...

Seems my K100d is going to get a good work out before the K10d comes out... Not regreting buying it (day it came out) at all, with these K10d delays...

I was in a local shop today and the guy there said oh maybe mid January... WHAT!!!!! I said noway. I think he pulled that out of the sky. I HOPE HE PULLED IT FROM THE SKY.

Pentax can't afford to make a mistake, given all the hype surrounding this camera. Hopefully when it comes out it'll be a final, refined, completed product.

I ordered one from Adorama. I use the D in my studio, it works for what I need. When I finally get my K10D I hope to retire my trusty old RB67!

Calumet still list shipping of the camera in November.

I just checked the Pentax Corporate website and find no mention of slipping from the November release.

But I think this is a relation into the anticipation orders. Pentax will probably be shipping cameras in late November for a December release via the mailorder market.

Its too bad because there is Much anticipation for this camera.. I know of some Nikon users who are interested in seeing this camera to be on the market

Same here. Got the K100D soon as I could and don't regret it one bit. I have a DS as well so the two are a great pair, I use the DS when I need a sequence of shots because of it's larger RAW bugger and the K100D for it's faster AF and SR.

Amazon is now showing the release date as January 17th.

The November date was featured prominently on the Pentax site for this camera, but now it's nowhere to be found... customers sure don't like vaporware, I'll never understand why manufacturers aren't more up front and honest about production delays... keeping silent only hurts them in the end. I need a dSLR... I'll wait until the end of November, but I can't wait until mid-January, especially if the trend of delays continues.
