At the moment I would say yes definately, especially since the Sigma 100-300 F4 has recently gone from £759 to £1159 in the UK, the DA*60-250 is currently priced at £799.

If the price goes up like the Sigma does then the value proposition would be reduced, then only you could say if it was worth it to you!

In the link given by Asahiflex, you can now see a couple shots with the 60-250.
Seems it is sharp as possible with very little CA IMO.

Would I be subjecting myself to overly much ridicule to ask how a DA* 60-250 f/4 would compare to either the Tamron or Sigma 70-200 f/2.8. Both of those seem to be well liked in lens review section. Is the DA* easily twice as good?

My particular interest is shooting wide open, as I tend to shoot overly much in dark buildings or ambient evening light.

Just for the fun of it:

Can anybody confirms it still is Dual focus? Or SDM only?
And does it.. cover 24x36? (surely not but hey.. just to be sure).

Yes - dual focusing for sure (KAF2), and yes it's FF ready (at least I've been told so)!
