Hey where's our SDM vs Screw-Drive upgrade???

Geez I won't look a gift horse in the mouth, but who even complained about the Shake Reduction? Don't remember seeing that ever. Let's hope they've been listening to the requests for an option to activate screw-drive AF as a back-up against SDM failures!

The K20D shake reduction never worked as well for me as the K10D SR, so I'll definitely upgrade right away.

Dumb question, but I'm still afraid of firmware... can it be undone?

Second that.

With K20D I often get "camera shake" on really high shutter speeds, this happens when I press shutter release button not waiting until SR indication lights up in viewfinder. I can't remember this happening with K10D. SR on my K10D was always ON, on K20D I turn SR on only when I need it.

On the other hand higher resolution of K20D makes camera shake more visible, it is possible that K10D was performing exactly the same however I was not noticing it because of lower resolution.

It will be very interesting to see if new firmware makes difference

Is it possible they are betatesting future DSLR SR routines on existing K20D users?

This would be very convenient but I am afraid it doesn´t work that way. SR may push the limit slightly further, but there is no substitute for lens speed.
