I occasionally mention that my favorite people-shooting (portraiture) zoom is an old M42 Sears-Tokina 55-135/3.5, a perfect focal range and maximum aperture, which cost me all of US$8 shipped. I also mention that its modern upgrade would be the DA*50-135/2.8, which unfortunately costs 100x as much. Hay, it's only money...

I was thinking at the follow lens:
- 85 mm f/2 (IF) - for remain more cheap, ok even if don't weather seals since this is a feauture that is done paid a lot despite for the producer is cheap to add ...
- 70-200 mm f/4 with IF and Weather seals
- 400 mm f/5.6 with IF and Weather seals
with FF coverage.
Since a modern, "cheap" 50mm (despite only for aps-c format), should be ready sooner.

Where's our DA* 11-16/2.8 based off the Tokina? I thought that lens would be a sure bet, one that would nicely round out a DA* 16-50 and 50-135/2.8 trio.

And back in FF land, I really don't think Pentax will be competitive unless they made a weatherproof FA* 24-70/2.8 and 70-200/2.8.

And improve SDM* quality because I don't want a new screwdrive lens.

*I've never had an SDM failure with my old 16-50/50-135 but nevertheless...

They have (what I believe is a FA*) 24-85mm or so coming out on the lens roadmap.

I think it depends on which gender you are as to how many pockets that last shirt has.. or pants if I were to be accurate.
