Yes, your are correct. It's a CAMERA, not a photocamera
Video - show me available video cameras with APS-C sensor, with such great lenses as FA Limiteds, with HD quality.
I really need this, for some small video notes about trips and bout my family. I you don't use something, that doesn't mean - nobody needs this and it's useless. Remember LV. Also I don't use bracketing - for me it is useless, I don't know why it exists everywhere. Professionals should be able to determine correct exposure themselves, don't they?

PS: You've mistaken. Not something, but someone who takes a great photos.

if its true that there is sth special and the hint is k10d then I also think it should have something to do with the 22bit adc that was much talked about but in the end didnt seem to make much of a difference

Focusing by moving the sensor would mean that the mirror assembly would have to move accordingly... Very complex and possibly very expensive to construct.
Not if it is EVIL.

Because that would mean a much faster mirror.
Or a gimmick mode, like the 21fps one from the K20D.
But it would not longer be a gimmick if it can shoot at 6M pixel resolution together with a working Live View during the shooting (very possible as it has movie mode). I certainly don't mind a 6M 8fps in mirror up mode as long as the Live View works well. Whether the contrast AF can keep up would be the biggest question.

Yes, you should give a shi* about the video mode even if you don't ever use it. Because, that's the key ticket to improve sales for this particular model (the lack of a video mode would look like a glaring omission when compared cameras from the competitors) and improve the chance of survival of your Pentax brand.

There is no highspeed mode with reduced resolution in K-7. Only at full resolution.

"640K ought to be enough for anybody." Bill Gates.

Have a little vision.

Despite how much some protest, video will be in every SLR in production by the end of next year. Bank on it.

SR in video mode? That'd be sweet coupled to a nice, old, fast lens

Look at cell phones, too. No cameras, then cameras, then video...now in-phone editing and scene modes...if you want a phone without a camera (as some businesses require) you have about 3 choices, literally. Narrow that down to about 1 if you don't want a BB.

Video mode will be great for me, my 2 brothers have just gotten kids, and this will be a nice addition to the photos I take
You always bring your camera, and its inconvenient to bring a photocamera and a hd video camera.

And how about those long teles, take a movie of birds 10 miles away instead of a photo. You can be your own planet earth photographer :P

Im hoping for a video mode like Timelaps, you can set it to take 5 sec exposures (for example) and automaticly stitch them together to a 1080p movie.

I would set it up at my cabin and take an entire day, morning to night and have it playing during the winter when I long for warmer times

That doesn't make sense.

Well, it just means it is non-standard resolution.
Basically, the sensor/image processing unit is not capable of outputting 1080p, but it is faster than 720p, so they use something in between :ugh:

Probably of limited usefulness for non-standard resolution modes.

I don't mind a good 720p implementation at all. Just hope that contrast AF works during movie mode, it manages to reduce CMOS wobble and it has full manual control of aperture, shutter speed and ISO for movie mode.
