It seems no one has noticed the blue buttons right below the meterig mode switch. Are those the play and delete buttons? If so, why are there? Bigger screen? Folding screen?
Looks like Playback and Delete buttons to me. As for the screen, it's gotta be a 3-inch VGA LCD for a 2009 model. Other brands have had this for almost two years now.

I used FocusMagic which offers two kernels (point spread functions PSF), one for motion blur, another one for defocus blur. FocusMagic reverts a PSF by some sort of regularized deconvolution which consistently delivers better results than Photoshop Unsharp Masking. FocusMagic refuses to publish more technical details.

I applied a motion blur deconvolution which requires two parameters: angle and length (actually, there is a third parameter which can read 'forensic' but which I left at 'digital camera' -- it tells the algorithm how much noise is in the input image).
Thanks for the info.
Can you apply this method to the third image, too?

I remember that there was a Pentax patent: histogram in the viewfinder ...
However when should officially announce it?

Mmm don't forget that bigger is the screen, bigger is the camera.
Bigger screen is nice of course but there's a tradeoff here.

Indeed. I think We may well see another 2.7 inch screen but with improved resolution. A nice OLED display would be nice too. We might see Samsung's 3.0inch HVGA OLED display if it will fit.

Please let me post a very wild idea... I've thought about it before and it looks plausible to me.

Pentax at the moment is very experienced with implementing the SR technique. Now let's for a second imagine that the new body will have a new SR system that does not only work in the X and Y axis, but also in the Z axis.

Think about it. This means that the sensor can be used for focusing. If it is not dependent on the lens, then focusing while filming can be virtually noiseless (the focusing noise is a problem for the video mode). Possibly the focusing could also be faster.

So this is my idea I got after having seen the large prism housing, maybe it needs to be that large to incorporate a focusing mechanism too.

As I said: just a wild idea

Done. Also, applied a gamma=2 correction to make things better visible.

Can somebody please compute dimensions from the photo? The distiace from mount to back sgould be constant and the same for FF and APS-C. SO, may be used as a reference.

The extra mode between USER and green could look like a video symbol (similar to the one representing the video mode on my W10)

Indeed, but it could just as well just be the Off position. Nothing supports that the On/Off switch will still be in the same place as previous bodies...

Harharhar, that's a good one!

Amazing how CSI folks (the TV ones) can coax out uber-detailed crops from a generally blurry image. They gotta share that algorithm/software with the rest of the world. Maybe then I won't have to rely on SR so much.
