OK, here's some off-the-cuff speculation that probably has no bearing whatsoever upon the K-7 or K30D. Nonetheless:

What I'd like to see is a camera that could be configured a bit like a computer rather than the rather static designs we have now. I know, the K20D (for instance) is massively configurable ... I own one, and I've barely scratched the surface of the available customisations. But computers are far more configurable still.

Imagine a camera that had a really enormous range of possible customisation options that could be installed in the firmware while hooked up to your PC. Sure, the camera would ship with a default set of shooting and processing modes, but it should be possible to customise these far more extensively by interfacing the camera to a PC and installing exactly the modes you want, and de-installing those you don't want.

I'm sure that this kind of thing will happen before too much longer: cameras will become more and more like specialised little computers. I'd imagine that we're probably about 5 years away from seeing anything quite like this though.

I think I read somewhere once, in a book about it, that the size of a man's camera body is inversely proportional to the size of his...

I will post a part of scheme in 3-4 days...There were rumors about new and innovate VF of new K.
It's not rumor.

As I said before. There are no real info about new features in specs. Just common info.
But the inner features are the heart and soul of K-7. I think we can get explanation after May,20-21.

Show, but later. Too early now. I think on May, 17-19.

Not MUCH better than magnesium alloy, but a bit stronger.

Why 1-2 days? This is why the hype feels carefully manipulated.

Of course it is - hype is always carefully planned and manipulated. Not that any of us are complaining though - it's not like we can't wait a week to find out the full details.

CHDK is something like this. It is an unofficial, open-source firmware replacement for the Canon Powershot and IXUS series that enables you to do all sorts of crazy things. Pretty cool. CHDK Wiki
