Yes, the K10D and K20D have 9 cross type focusing points. The two side focusing points are linear. try focusing on a linear pattern with the nine cross type points and then with the side ones ... you'll see that the camera has difficulty locking the focus with the side ones. That's why the old 5D users are saying the 5D doesn't focus well, because only the center AF point is cross and the others are just linear.
Faster than f/5.6 would be lovely - make it f/2.8 and it would be a very capable system. It would improve focusing in bad light a lot.
