So these 3-4 new lenses will presumably be-

DA 30 f/whatever - probably f2 probably SDM, possibly WR

18-55 WR kit lens

55-200 WR kit lens???

A DA 150-400 SDM WR (that DA telephoto?)

Possibly more on that SDM teleconvertor

Well, I think 1/8000 shutter or 1/250 flash sync is nothing special...as all the DSRL brands include them in any of their models...:ugh:

On the other hand, maybe for you a sensor that can be shifted is a weird new feature of questionable utility, but for me this could be an incredible feature as can be used by lanscape, architectural and product photographers as they would use a Shift lens...
Many pros would buy a camera with this feature instead of a Canon 5D with all their T/S lenses...

But this obviusly depends on anyone interests, I think.

I wrote that few pages before and i'm keep telling that. That's 1/250 sync.
I'm 150% sure about that. Maybe we can bet.
I am 151% sure about that. So let's bet.

I think they chose the FA77 because everyone should have one on their camera.

Maybe the FA77 is the normal lens for this sensor,

0.7 Crop for the new K7! It's only fitting.

OMG we just owned the canikons!

First Dpreview review: "The sensor is a little large, not noisy enough and has too much dynamic range"

You probably mean 50-200 or 55-300, I presume. I bet on the latter. As much as I like the 50-200, the 55-300 is a better match for the K20d/K-7 sensor, isn't it?

Will be interesting to see new roadmap. Hope its not all just rehashes with WR.

Interesting they chose an FA lens to picture it with, altho the 77mm and metal build are factors but I thought they would be promoting DA lenses. I thought the DA* 55 would be a natural choice for the official pics

Sorry, yes I meant the 50-200. I agree that the 55-300 is a better match for a 14.6mp sensor but its already a little expensive for a 'kit' lens and giving it WR would add to this cost?

There already is a picture with the DA* 55 on it. But it does not look as good as with the 77 IMHO, the aperture ring on the 77 make it look really really nice.

true it looks nice, but aperture rings and FF coverage are things Pentax are going away from so thats why I thought soemthing more modern would be natural

Yes, on the other hand, they already have a budget kit with the 50-200 plastic mount version (btw. the K-m double kit sells really well in Japan, much better than the single kit). A sealed 55-300 may be a very good choice for a "trekker's lens". But maybe it will kill 60-250 sales

Is it technically possible to make an extending lens like a 50-200 or 55-300 weather resistant?
Changing focal length will scoop up water, won't it?

They seem to be pushing the km a lot more than the k20d in japan. In the major stores they had displays with at least 2 km, one being the olive one, and a photo frame thingy showing a demonstration video of the km
