Ill bet the fn button is still there, I doubt they added that many new buttons to make it redundant

I like dedicated buttons, they save button presses. You can still keep the Fn button of course for more customization.

New buttons do not need to be added to remove the Fn button

K-m lacks fn button, and have direct ISO/WB on the arrows. So it could be very likely.

But on the k10d, k20d, u can set focus points to SEL and use the arrows to change them and that would then conflict if those buttons had normal functions on them. So I find that unlikely. it works on the k-m because it doesnt have that af point selector wheel

Just a little question that pops to my mind. How do you select AF points in AF SEL mode on the K-m? Do the direct access buttons stop working in AF SEL or is there another button to press before selecting the AF points?

I don't think you can select focus points for the K-m.

different controls

There's no Fn button. To select AF points you must first press the middle ok button.

If so, that wouldn't be very convenient for me as I use the AF selection all the time. But I guess having to press the OK button would avoid accidentally changing the AF point which does occasionally happen to me...

I wonder what it will turn out to be...

The ”ok” button works fine as an ”iso” button on the K10/K20 so a new iso button isn’t that important in my opinion. Perhaps the mystery button on the top is a “live-view” button?

Everyone seems to love them dearly, here in Tokyo. A used LX in top condition can easily command ¥400,000 ($4000) or more. I've never seen one for less than about ¥60,000 ($600).

But I have to wonder at all of the comparisons being made in this 1000-post thread. I've tried to follow the thread but I don't see where most of the conjecture is coming from.

I agree, but the lack of the button (and one for WB) it's always mentioned by reviewers and marked down as a negative!

That is the common guess, but not a fact as far as I know.
