Name without that D would be very good. It is no more needed for diffentation purposes from film ones.

I've seen those pictures on Engadget and Photography Bay, amongst other places.
I'm not sure about Photography Bay, but Engadget sources their photos from far and wide, and they include rumor articles in the mix. Not all of their content are given to them by corporations themselves. You should see how many Apple rumors they run there that turns out to be hoaxes.

My point was, viral marketing campaigns don't need to send pictures directly to big sites, and sending pics directly to big sites would ruin the whole point of viral marketing campaigns. The pics will find their own way to the big sites.

viral marketing campaigns
Viral or guerrilla marketing only works for a given target audience. A company needs an enthusiast customer base before it can apply it.

Maybe, Pentax now learns that it has this base and how precious it is. I.e., how precious we are. Hopefully, pentaxforums.com earns some attention and Pentax Japan, from time to time, talks to their enthusiast base.

Guerrilla marketing basically works because journalists like to source their info from forums and blogs. Saves them a lot of time to develop an own opinion...

And the bulk of consumers believe what they read in "test" magazines...

I get the feeling they might have built the fake picture on a photo of the MZ-1 prototype?? There are some similarities between that body and what we have seen of this new K7(?)D (and even Pentax designers may have glanced on the MZ-1).

I noticed on what appears to be a Chinese Pentax forum or blog (my Chinese is not so god), where someone calling him/herself Pentax1D first submitted this photo

followed by this photo

Is this supposed to be yet another blurry pic of the K7D? The first confirming that it really has a built in flash? What then is those four green things on the top?

Could someone who reads Chinese take a look at what he/she writes about these pictures? Here it is: ÉÏÒ»Ìù±»¹ØÁË£¬¼ÌÐø·¢Í¼°É - ÎÞ¼ÉÂÛ̳

this image is still valuable as a mock-up, it does include the latest things we've learned. would be even more valuable if more care was given to actual estimated dimensions though...

Fuuuuunny!!

The first photo is mine. I colored it and showed it in this very thread. Just browse back to find it

(I posted it to illustrate where the pop-up flash is supposed to go).

I analyzed the second photo in the sibling thread with these words:
I verified that this is EXACTLY the pop-up flash from the K-m. I compared looking from the exact same angle. I additionally deburred and gamma-corrected the photo to inspect the fixation point. Those are diferent for K-m and K7. The one on the photo is from K-m.

So, this photo is a hoax.

The only image alteration are the four LED top of the flash light which the hoaxer wanted us to make believe is the new focus assist lamp ...
We are probably better off ignoring the Chinese discussing our thread and hoax images...

BTW, most won't see the image you posted. The Chinese site prohibits cross-linking and people w/o the image in their browser cache see a "link prohibited" logo image only.
