Do you know the K20D has a quieter shutter/mirror mechanism than the K10D?
People say this all the time...when I held the 2 side by side for an impromptu comparison, I could tell no difference.

I have both and the K20D is much quieter. Actually the mirror slap is more dampened.

I sold my K10D one year ago and I can't remember how much better the K20D is... Anyway a quieter noise would be nice (although much less important than many of the features we have seen floating around).

one thing that surprised me: the sole mention of built-in GPS in this 1000 post thread was in a quote from Yvon Bourque's list of possible features. seems like a lot of people really aren't that excited for GPS. especially in contrast with the ubiquitous "faster AF".
what's there to be excited about? Geotagging? I'll gladly pass...

Really?
I have both of them too and I can't really tell there's a distinct difference...

Please do not post directly to RH ”findings”, without evaluating. He is often more wrong than not.

I’ve stopped counting, but here is just one of the latest; last time I had a look into it :

Ah, a Tri-Elmar type Limited would be pretty hot. You could have all the convenience of a zoom but maybe fewer of the compromises.
As for weather-sealed kit lenses, I still think you may as well put that sealing on a bit of an upgrade, if the cost of doing so amounts to anything. Fact is, when you would want the sealing, chances are good you want at least a little more speed, too.
Good point

Oh, but, Jonson:
Apparently the notion behind the name 'K7' relates to a big exec at Pentax having an affection for the mountain of that designation. I'm still unconvinced that's to be the name, though. At least everywhere. Cameramakers do seem to be in the habit of putting different nameplates on the same cameras for different markets, these days, which just seems to create more confusion than it could possibly be worth, in my mind, but I'd still figure all bets are off on that count.
I’ve never heard of K7 mountain, only K2

Yes, really. That was the first I noticed after I got the K20D. It would be strange if there were K20D's with the exact same mirror slap as a K10D.

I've noticed that the little switch you turn to open the sd card door on K10D / K20D is no longer present, at least its not on photos I have the K-7, it could have moved to the sides though I don't have photos of the side views

I wonder what that means?

They didn't mean to release that teaser ad yet I guess.

Maybe we should send that picture to CSI and make them use their image enhancement protocols.

From what can be seen in the picture the camera looks sweet.

For Ned's pic...he starts with the DA15. Every few days as the annoucement gets closer, he should sit in the same chair and use a different lens...like...next up is the DA21, then FA31, etc. culminating with a DA300 shot.

Now wouldn't that be fun?
