It really makes me wonder at the predictability of the whole thing. Someone should run a sociological experiment on this sort of thing. Every time a highly anticipated product is rumored, regardless of the type, people immediately start building it up to biblical proportions, only to be disappointed time and time again. You'd think they'd learn :ugh:

Because people normaly start posting what they hope the new model has, so if eanough people posts that they wish it had something, suddenly rumors appear that it has that just because it keeps getting mentioned along with the camera.

I fear thats what will happen with the 1/250 sync speed

That's the thing, I know I won't get the K7 before I'm done working here, but if I knew it was really gonna be something special I would just wait until the end of June or whenever it's released. I'm almost sure it won't be FF, but that's not really a requirement of mine, it is just something I would enjoy having. I'd be happy with greatly reduced noise at higher ISOs, but I don't see that happening either. Maybe a slight improvement but nothing drastic.

The reason I'm thinking about getting the 5D is because I'll be getting a new camera body soon anyway, and the 5D would be great for low light/night time shooting while I'm here. Also, it will cost just as much as the K7 when it's released. The main things holding me back from just going ahead and getting one right now are that with the 5D I'd also have to get a Canon lens of some sort to use it, plus I don't really NEED a new camera, I'd just really like to get one.

Anyway, enough about me and back to speculation about a camera that most of us will know fairly few concrete facts about for another month.

Votesh, go ahead and get the 5D. You won't get the K-7 in time for your trip on June 1st.

I would love WR in all my lenses especially in the limiteds! Most lenses will be fine in a bit of drizzle but in moist/damp/hot environment its nice to have peace of mind for things like being in the snow or a tropical jungle etc and it's a fab talking point thus selling point. The only thing I hate is the noise it makes..

Take a look at these to see how good the sealing is at present: YouTube - gx10/k10d has a nice shower...

SLR?? ?????
Thanks for the links! Good to see the level of sealing can probably sustain heavy downpour. I've only had occasional jaunts in light rain with a plastic bag surrounding the lens, and the body held up nicely. Now I need affordable sealed glass to go with it, so I wouldn't need the plastic bag. I hope Pentax delivers on this part.

Unless you see something I don't see? (which is quite possibly the case)

What are you implying. Is one of the pictures not of the K200D and K20D.???
Or is it the grip in th e background that is not either the one for the Ist D/ K200D/Kx0D???

Edit. Now that gets my goat.

The grip looks like the D-BG2.

I'm not so sure it is a K20D. Look at the trigger, you have two buttons before like on the other leaked/blurred pictures. Pictures of the press-kit for the K-7?

OMG, do we really have to go through this again?

The body to the bottom right is the K200D, the body to the bottom left is the K10D/K20D with the D-BG2 grip from behind and the top right is the K200D with the grip.

No K7 in that pic ... move along, nothing new to see here.
