Yes, but the mode dial looks like it has Auto Picture mode on it... Maybe it's a K200D succesor

Look at the trigger, you have two buttons before like on the other leaked/blurred pictures.
Yep, that's what the K200D looks like!

I have a feeling people don't really know what the K200D looks like, hence the confusion.

Some K-7 Specs
Here's the latest specs flying around:

Logical.

This is someone taking the K20D's specs and stretching them a stop on each side (custom setting excluded) to be more exciting.

5 fps (till 10 fps in 6 MP mode)
Because everyone hopes for it, it must be true. I nominate this one as the top likely point of screaming disappointment. Still, it's a modest enough guess that it might be true. One possibility is a 3.6Mpix burst mode, which takes 2×2 pixel groups in addition to the 3×3 pixel groups of the 1.6Mpix mode on the K20D.

This sounds like the 100%-viewfinder rumor grown larger in the repeating.

Possible. Don't be too surprised if it's 720p.

Makes no sense. In LV, it could just use contrast detection and have many more points than that.

11-point TTL double-cross sensor.
Continues the formula of "take what we've got and add one". It's a hopeful guess, but I don't think it's got any basis.

Confused signals with the LV metering spec above. *shrug*

And again: Continues the formula of "take what we've got and add one".

1.1x would be great, though - that would bring the VF into the same magnification range as the current FF cameras. If they manage that, plus manage to make improve high ISO by one step, the only significant remaining reason for buying FF would be better DOF control.

Just to correct you: current FF cameras (digital ones) do not have 1.1x magnification.
The biggest magnification (0.76x) has Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III (+ 100% coverage). Which gives us viewfinder size equal to 27.36x18.24mm. (Note: sensor size of 1Ds Mk III = 36x24mm)

And what about current (let's take K20D) or future (K-7) Pentax cameras?

K20D - 95% coverage + 0.95x magnification on 23.4x15.6 mm sensor.
That gives us 21.12x14.08 mm viewfinder,

K-7 - 100% coverage + 1.1x magnification on same 23.4x15.6 mm sensor.
That would give us 25.74x17.16 mm viewfinder.

Still not that big as biggest on DSLRs but big enough to make us happy

However, for now I have seen 100% coverage + 1.00x magnification for the new K-7. And that does not make a lot difference from K20D.

Why do you think you correct me? I didn't claim that! (EDIT: Well, strictly speaking I see that I did. I was thinking "magnification range" when I meant viewfinder size range)

But that's the magnification it will need to get into the range of 5dMkII and D700, just as you show with your calculation, or with the simpler (assuming K-7 has a crop of 1.538 just like the K20D):

1.1 * 1/1.538 = 0.7152

IF the K-7 has a 100% 1.1x VF, it will then be slightly better than the 5DMkII (98% 0.71x) and D700 (95% 0.72x) and just a little bit smaller than the A900 (100% 0.74x). If the K-7 has a 1.15x VF, it will also beat the A900...

(with "current FF" I was thinking of the less expensive models, not 1DMk III and D3, which are in a different price league than the K-7 is expected to be)

It probably will be. When the K20d came out it was $1,200 I think.

Wouldn't we have seen a Samsung-owned patent application for a new sensor, though? I don't remember hearing about that, but I'm not too sure what the rules are for patent disclosure for multinationals any more.

How quickly did that price drop off?

Specifically, if it hits shelves in June, how much do I have to save up by Christmas....

I don't think it'll be radically new. I think it'll be mark II of the same sensor.
