I hope there's better software support now! Especially with tethered shooting, faster tethered speeds and supported by Aperture

All sounds good.
Will be waiting for the first buyer to tell us all come 21st May whether there's a real difference in the images it produces (not interested in video to be honest)...

Yep, the teaser camera was ugly, very ugly, almost Sony ugly... Even if I look back at them I cannot believe it is the same one we see now all over the place.

I could tighten the spec

ISO 50 somehow implies improved sensor/ADC, doesn't it?
No

Contrast AF in video mode is news to me (Canon 5Dmkii lacks this feature).
As is 77 zone contrast AF for still images.
Or 77 zone light metering probably making for perfect exposures in LV
Sorry, video mode???? Personal opinion mind you.
We shall see what we shall see as they say. I prefer to stay grounded on this one.

Nope. I'm really excited!

I have reservations on the reliability and performance of the metering, P-TTL and AF systems, though. But I shall try them out very soon once the goods are there!
Now THERE'S a surprise.......

hdmi out, hope some company make a nice thin 7 or so inch quality screen with a hot shoe mount and hdmi so k-7 and d700, d3 etc users can use them. remember there was a search in the nikon forum at dpr for a nice small monitor with hdmi in to use for live view etc, dont think they found one.

How does this look

Obviously some was taken from the K20D
Some educational guessing and some from the front of the camera reversed.Attachment 33536

Looks a bit too narrow to my feeling. Esp at the right.

You are right, he forgot to include the AE-L button and that does take up some space.

I think by the latest pictures it showes that there is not lokley to be any buttons on the left hand side.
More likley on the bottomor where the SR usually sits if that is not being used.
What is strange is what is going on with the joypad and wheel. No longer together, but we have not seen the arrow keys yet.
