Maybe, they should be leaked in 77 slices each?

5 fps is real, but not with highest resolution
I am concerned about this one.

3.5 fps at 14.6MP are 51.1 MP/s.
5 fps at 14.6MP are 73 MP/s.
1080p@24fps are 49.8 MP/s or already 2/3 of this.

Assuming the camera can read out at 50MP/s, we are left at
5 fps at 10 MP. I would be fine with that, if it isn't lower. I've seen 6 MP somewhere ...

The Dell Online Store: Build Your System
The 2209W is a tn-panel. I am currently considering the 2209WA, which is an e-IPS panel. Unfortunately it's only 1680x1050, but I think I have to live with that to get better colors at a reasonable price. But you are right, at $139 I could add a 2209W as well....

It'll take a while until I will upgrade to the K-7 anyway, but I still think it would be cool if it had 1920x1080.

So.....if modern DSLR's are all going to incorporate HD video, do we need to start carrying tripods with fluid heads? It's one thing to hold steady for 1/30 of a second. It's quite another to hold still for 10 seconds.

I thought modern movie-making was all about unsteady cams?

Yana36 (or whatever he/shes called) claimed 5 fps at 6mp. Ogl I think has claimed the same as Yana (is this a surprise? hmm....)

I would be fine with 5fps at 10Mp but 5fps at 6mp is weak. It looks like the mirror box won't get upgraded from the K20D then if this is the case. The data through put must be fast enough to handle 10mp at 5fps at least. Remember that the K10D was equipped with DDR Ram capable of reading (and writing?) at 800 mb/sec - clearly the bottle neck is not here assuming the K-7 has the same speed memory or faster.

But how do they read out the lower 1080-resolution from the sensor? I thought they read the entire sensor and then down sample to movie size. Although that would require some bandwidth…

Holy cow! And we're supposed to hand-hold that thing? I'm too old for this stuff.

Hm, more fps but at lower mp, that would be bad, just a cheating way to get more fps without improving sensor/shutter/mirror. and you wont get the other benefits of more fps, ie a faster shutter (faster sync speed) faster mirror (shorter blackout)

Doesn't look like we'll be getting an AF-assist lamp on this one. Oh well. Let's hope the other probable good specs come to pass, like 5FPS (please let it be at 10MP or more), improved AF, and max shutter speed of 1/8000.

And WR lenses, please!
