Only Pentax make it. Other maker could not do it.

Hint ... from K10D idea
This feature is the most surprise of K-7

What may this be?
I twist my brain but can't think of anything that would make me cry.
"from K10D idea"?

What're the things that made the K10 unique? Maybe the weather seals? That was something quite awesome.

i think he meant the original hype/hope of the K10D. what was the biggest unfulfilled rumor about the K10D?

Hint ... from K10D idea
This feature is the most surprise of K-7

CCD sensor improved a lot of ...
Is this the same (or part of) as that?
Rumor from Japan: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

1. The real machine has been seen
2, Not a successor of K20D
3, The same level of surprise as K10D
4, Improved CMOS from K20D
5, PRIME ---> PRIME 2
6, The noise control has 100% improvement ?
7, The AF has great improvement
8, VF is worthy "waiting"
9, Functions from other rivals are included
10, THe price is around 150,000 to 160,000 Yen
11, THe delayed launch of DA 60-250 is due to the adjustment with new body
12, K30D will be lanuched at the end of this years. 645D is the first priority.

Hope it's true
Really Looking forward to the New K
(hope the translation is alright, my English is not that good)

About the only "surprise" w/ the k10 was the 22bit overkill ADC and arguably the largest DR of all APS-c's at the time. Not to mention the "uneven" AA filter... hmmmm

CCD? I believe this is an erroneous way of referring to simply sensor.
Seems unlikely because of movie and CMOS sensor in k20d.
Just a note.

Btw.. is there any picture which can clearly show that K-7 doesn't have built in grip?
I've seen people writing about new grip but it may be anything.

The fact there is a BG-4 grip as an option says the grip is not built in, unless they are shipping it with the cameras.

The biggest surprise of the K10D was the phenomenal value for money. It had most D200 features (including the seals) + some D2X-level features (multiple cross-type AF sensors) for $1000 MSRP. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but it was true. Too bad I was (and still am) heavily invested in A-mount to justify a switch.

Prog.

I don't think it's genuine, even if several items are probably true. This, assuming the translation is accurate.
I mean, 8fps? A Pentax? No chance in h*ll!

Maybe for cropped cropped format? Like shotting 4/3 image on the APS-C sensor.

completely hypothetical...

So, they've removed the AA filter in the K-7.

Or, incredible though it may be, it is user-switchable!

That would be an insane feature for pixel head tweakers. And Pentax would be the only ones to offer it.

if thats real it means the k-7 gives me the oppurtunity to switch, af modes, execute af and switch to live view with one misguided thumb =)

I find myself cursing my K20d since it won't AF when I hit the AF button only to find out i'm hitting the exposure compensation buttton!

I do have one request, an AF button on the battery grip!

An AF button on the grip would be awesome...

I reckon I'm not the only one, too. There are many K10/200/20D users out there that will benefit from that.
The current kit lenses sell used for less than $100 (generally). If an 18-55 WR comes in around $100 used, that'll be perfect to hold out for the 16-50

I don't know about you guys. I wouldn't use a $1500+ camera body (K-7) in the rain. It's not worth the risk. Plus what can you shot if its raining hard?

But I can rock a K200D, or maybe just get a used DS. Put a rain jacket on and I can save the money on a DA* weather seal lens. Iff the DS stop working no big lose.
Have you ever seen the videos where a camera has a body cap taped to it and put under the kitchen faucet?

It's not so much that we "shoot in the rain"...I would like one so that I don't have to say "oh sh$t I can't let this get wet" when I don't have a bag or something to cover it on hand. Or to go out when it's snowing.

I can think of only one such thing. A logical extension to existing technology, only to a certain extent implemented on other cameras - but with a new, very interesting functionality that can be made possible only on Pentax cameras - given the technological choices they made in the past.
Hmm... maybe, this is it?
(trying to be mysterious, let's see if anyone believes me )
