The word is.. biased?

or low expectation?

"SAFOX" stands for Sensor Ability Fortifying Optical Compensating System.

Pentax Auto Focus Systems

I never really understood that acronym... Strange that the AF bit doesn't just mean auto focus...

The phase detect autofocus system is an improvement of the existing system in the K20D, it is not totally new. This doesn't have to be bad. The K-m uses an improved version of the AF system from the *ist DL2, and the K-m outperforms the K20D in low light.

I believe isn't the actual performance more important than if the system is an improvement of an old or a totally new system?

It will still be SAFOX, but a better SAFOX.
Performance will satisfy.
There is no need to worry.
Please clarify me something here: K-7 will have similar AF performance as K-m or better yet?

I ask this because I was very surprised with the K-m AF speed/accuracy when testing the camera inside B&H with kit lens, and that is coming from a K10D. I am sure the K-m AF must perform very nicely with a bright lens.

So are they improving the AF even more on the K-7?

That'd be really nice!

Rubber (w/ magnesium inner chassis)! That would be able to absorb impacts of drops or bangs when out adventuring!

I have no idea...

OMG!

It's made of WOOD guys!

It's all clear now! Not new material, but big surprise.. Norway + The Beatles ? - Norwegian Wood!

Now we can all look forward to a press conference from a typical wooden cabin in Norway where every damn thing, the walls, ceiling, tables, chairs etc are made of pinewood - and now even the new K-7 !

Another possibility would of course be a press conference in a particular park in Oslo. Japanese tourists are somehow very exited to be able to take photos of naked people made of stone.. Just the same way Norwegians love to take pictures of Japanese vending machines that sell used ladies underwear...

Rumor is magnesium chassis, not the old stainless steel frame. still guessing w/ the "rubber soul" outer shell....
