Will there be a small RAW available? I like the advantages of RAW but I don't need a full 14-15MP all the time.

For everyday shooting I usually just use 6MP.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of RAW in the first place which is simply the RAW data from the sensor? Why not just use jpeg then?

Edit: Sorry if I missed the sarcasm. I see now you are referring to a Canon marketing feature that has no value. Sorry I'm slow today...

Yes, AF is greatly improved. It is still the SAFOX phase detect system, but improvements has been made so it performs better. K-m shows that one can improve big time with the same old AF sensor.

For contrast detect AF, it will use the image sensor as AF sensor so that is a different system.

Great. I wish I could use a K-m to experience the difference people talk about. Is it really that much better than the k20d?

Well there is the "topScreen" (LCD at the side of the viewfinder ).

No problem haha but I wasn't being sarcastic

I like the idea of small RAW or sRAW in Canon terms. I'd like to have the flexibility in WB, exposure and all. However at times I don't need full 14-15MP.

For example, for the paid shoots my partner and I do but don't need large prints (he uses a Canon) I don't need full 14-15MP. It slows down my post-processing quite a bit and takes up more space.

So if it's possible to have the advantages of RAW but less MP, I'd find it very useful.

Boo; I hope he's wrong about that. I was hoping for greater than 1x magnification and better than 95% coverage. 1X should still make it the largest APS-C view finder I know of, but that still won't put it quite in the ballpark of FF VF's.

So if I am thinking about this properly, if the K-7 has 1.0x magnification and 95% FOV, that would mean the physical size of the viewfinder is at least 5% larger? This is not like adding a viewfinder loop which magnifies the image but reduces FOV. Am I thinking about this correctly?
