I would hope that means the bracketing is burried somewhere as a menu option. I wouldnt think the top model would be without it...would it?

Wheres the SD card door release lever?
Chances are...it will be a menu choice.

The SD card door slides "back" towards you then flips out...like on Rebel-series cameras. Not too happy about that, personally. Not just because I love the springy release

Remote cable release plug.
So if that's on the right, what's under the left door besides HDMI? I would think USB as well...

Nice, so 3 things that made the previous models great are now gone. But oh yay, there's video now.

so we have an idea of spcs, altho we still dont know if they are all true or not, what remains is the question if it does have some special feature as has been mentioned, and that is something else than just having the features it does at a small size.

as for the body I am sad to see buttons go, Id prefer they put more buttons on it, not remove. Id like to keep the drive button around where it was and have the sr switch. and still wondering how the af point switching will work

we now have a fairly complete idea of what the K-7 looks like.

the form factor, dimensions, materials, and even the most ambitious specs that have been bandied about all still reveal an evolutionary camera however. this camera promised a REVolution.

so where is it?

will the K-7 bring something we can all agree is revolutionary, or is what's special about it exactly what Ned B. suggests: the particular combination of attributes coming together to make something greater than the sum of its parts. if so, i fear that won't be enough for many. especially after all this painfully stretched out hype.

from the little we know as fact about the K-7, the only concrete revolution i do see it bringing so far is the lens, not the camera. making WR affordable and bringing it to the mainstream is revolutionary in my eyes. something Pentax has truly pioneered and should be recognized for (and something their marketing better exploit).

but what about the camera itself? with all this extended hype and forumers posting aspirational pictures of doves for its arrival, the K-7 better bring something truly revolutionary that transcends specs. hopefully in that viewfinder.

It's not real - REVOLUTION in DSLR. What do you mean? Canon 300D was revolution in price.
Canon 5D was the first FF with good price. Some kind of revolution.

I don't remember any promises. Do you want any engineering breakthrough?
Please...Welcome!

O, My god... Pentax never had SUCH camera like K-7.

I'd say wait and see if they managed to improve the ergonomy. As the K-m showed us you can do more with less buttons.

Cool, now we have seen the front and the rear. I was hoping it would look even more retro! Looks like a nice size though.

With all of this info already out and all of these pics on the interweb........... what is left to announce?

I have E-420 and I can say that Oly's control is more effective than K200D.
I've tried K-m - better than K200D.
K-7's control is K20D+K-m+some new moves.

Uh, they already had that in the 10/20. Maybe not with the weight, but definitely the size. I don't care what whiz bang features it has, if it feels like shit in my hands, it might as well be shit in my hands because they'll serve the same purpose. They've already got small in the K200 and K2000, they don't need yet a third body with none that are of any decent size.

Did you take K-7 in your hands?
No. What are we talking about?

What's with all the pessimism and bitching about something that has not been offfically announced?
Pentax have not hyped this at all - just put a countdown till announcement. All hype has come from speculation and poorly leaked tidbits.

We know this is not the K20 replacement. If you want the high end wait for that.

Otherwise, I think the K-7 will offer a unique feature set aimed at the enthusiest, that will offer many things to a lot of people. If that doesn't suite you, don't bitch to those who are eager to find out about it.

Is it in fact smaller than a K20D, as you keep alluding to? If so, I don't need to take it in my hands. The 20D is barely big enough as it is.
