No. Because no pink lenses.
That's a shame really. I'm sure they could sell loads of those on the Japanese market.

I'm with you on that one. Perhaps we'll one day se a real "limited" body from Pentax. A bit like the MZ-M "back to basics" thinking. If this new body is all metal and as good as some say, then there they'll just have to cut down features, perhaps add some gold and increase the price tag

In fact I think some of this "back to basics" principles can be found in the Sigma DSLRs. Just look at those top dials, only problem is I think they're also pretty menu-dependent(?) A retro DSLR without a Leica price tag would be very cool indeed.

Indeed, that was what I thought after seeing his photos. Just check the baby pictures for for lateral CA.

I totally understand the size concern. I've got a Ds, K100, K10 and a K20 with grip. The K10 and K20 with grip is a lot more comfortable to hold with a big lens like the DA* series then a K100, or even my friends K-m. A also quite like the MZ-5 with the battery grip attached, but that camera also weighs next to nothing compared to a DSLR. My guess is though, that the K-7 will have a better grip in real life than what we are able to guess from looking a the leaked pictures.

.
OMG!! Don't you know that Pentax orthodoxy is that Pentax cameras are SMALL!! Blasphemy!!

... Or maybe you're like me and discovered Pentax through the Z1P and were drawn to Pentax by its wonderful ergonomics and comfortable grip... as well as their fantastic value for money!

Again, let's wait until we can try it and each of us will then decide if the K-7 OK or not but the "Pentax cameras are small and if you don't like it, get lost, you don't belong here and didn't understand what Pentax is all about in the first place!!" is just BS.

I have been a Pentaxian for more than 15 years and my preferred Pentax cameras are Z1P and K10/K20, were they not made by Pentax? Were they mistakes?

If the K-7 feels uncomfortable to use to me, I won't buy it and hope for a bigger body in the future... just like some who like small bodies kept their Ds while waiting for the K-7.

In fact my first Pentax was the MG I would love to have a DSLR with the same size and build quality as that, but when I run around with the DA* 300, Tokina 400mm or even the DA* 16-50 I prefer a bigger body to balance things out. On the other hand the K20 with battery grip looks rather silly with the DA 40

I still haven't had the heart to sell any one of my Pentax bodies. They're all kind of special..

By the way, regarding that riddle.. Has anyone found out what 15 is ? Could it be 15 AF points?

Of course in film days aperture was on the lens, but there is no reason not to have it on the body instead. Each dial would require an "A" setting to put it into automatic.

.

A DIGITAL MX PLEASE!! Complete with working aperture ring.

its slightly more exciting than that. But not very exciting. think of it as an improvement, for me it is not, but it is an indicator of something else, something measurable.

980 euros, 15kg and 670 as sensor native ISO rating. The alchemists at Pentax finally discovered the secrets of turning iron into gold.
