Or the quality is so good people will look at it and say "I Can't Believe it's not Canon!"

This will make Pentax's next spokesman an obvious choice.

YouTube - I can't believe its not butter SPRAY!

Anybody said about swivel LCD.
For waterproof camera is no good at all. LCD is the most vulnerable part of Olympus E-3, for example. K-7 has stronger WR than E-3 or K20D. That's why such LCD is no good for K-7.

I think that we will see how K-7 to drop into sea and pull out during the presentation in Norway.

Dave
Don't be offended if we do not hold a candle-light vigil, waiting for your return.

I've been here for over a year now and still can't understand why people need to make a big deal about leaving...it's just a brand...geeez.

Outer sheel is alloy. But...a bit strange.
Most metals used are alloys...sooooooooo...it could be anything is what you're saying.

Isnt that the green focus symbol in the viewfinder of the present models?
It is...but if you look closely, the hexagon sits "flat" when looking into the viewfinder. On the K-7, the hexagon is rotated slightly onto a "point" if that makes sense. I had to look yesterday just to confirm

A note for your "hypothetical" swich to a 5D + takumars, they work perfect down to 50mm with adapter but wide angles (35f2 and 24f3.5 that I have) cannot be used because of protruding rear element that "conflicts" with the 5D mirror... (max distance for the 24mm is 0,8m and 3m for the 35mm)
A fairly comprehensive list can be found here for anyone interested

And yes...that is unfortunate

I hope Pentax really does that. There's no better way to show how tough our cameras are. Will the competition survive an immersion in water? No I don't think so, let's crush them!

I'll be waiting with scuba-gear, ready to snatch it

Would be cool if they did that though, probably one of the most impressive ways to show how well sealed it is..

About "doesn't feel like metal", neither does the MZ-S and yet it is a metal body (with a special outer texture on the outside of the metal)

Under the sea

So it means it can shoot under the sea with specific pentax underwater lenses. No need for the specific casings. Wow under water photography.

Tie ropes to a K-7, 5DII, E-3 and whatever other cameras they can get...and toss em off the dock. Ooooo...even better...have the video mode running on that K-7 they toss in, and have another K-7 filming the results.

That would be youtube "favorite" worthy

is it possible to hold the WB button and use a wheel/dial to scroll through the WB options (faster that way, like the way Nikon works)?

Welcome fangirl. Why does fangirl sound nice when fanboy doesn't at all? Must be you. And actually, you're far too tolerant for a fangirl So, you're the analog of Pentaxian in Canon land (how is this called then?) -- oh no, you've been nominated honorable Pentaxian already

As for eye dominance. Interesting that POTN had a majority being left eye dominant. We had a similiar poll here and it ended with the common wisdom, that 2/3 of mankind is right eye dominant (Ocular dominance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

My old Canon Rebel was:

Push button
Use wheel
Push button

That was for things like WB and ISO...

It isn't my wording. I assume it means the loss of details when denoising artifacts becomes visible. Like the median filter in Photoshop. Which is neither blurry nor soft.
