I guess the secret feature would be the auto HDR option. if thats true. Would hope they included the option of making a single HDR image so you could do the tone mapping yourself.

seems they still dont have 14 bit raw?

dont understand why they cant get the x sync up when everyone else can even on low end models. thought if they increased the max shutter they would increase x sync too. and why dont they just make an electronic shutter like the old nikon d70 then u can sync at any speed.

otherwise if its true it looks very promising. finally got the fps up a bit. and new af. after trying the km i was atualy very impressed with its af, it seemed way better than the k20d and felt more like canikon. ie fast and direct no stuttering slowly into focus bit by bit, hell of a lot better than my k10

Yeah, what is the secret feature?
More importantly, what's the big concept separating the K-7 from the K-20? Size?
Metal? Is that enough?

From what we currently know, the K-7 simply feels like an all around well-specced K20 Super Mini (or K30 even). It doesn't seem different enough to be a wholly new 'concept'.

The K-7 and K20 share the same sensor for sure...soooooo...what else is new? How about "everything but the sensor"?

They couldve made an entirely new concept with the K20's sensor. Upgrading the sensor wouldve just been another incremental upgrade like everything else. A mere incremental upgrading of specs is far from a 'new concept'

The k7 user is very different! Those who likes K20 will feel at home [with grip attached ] and many other who bashed the K20 as "too big to carry around" will love it...THIS is the change of concept.

Wish it was tethered so I wouldn't lose it easily.

You could be right. From the pictures, the K-7 always just looked liked...a camera. But without seeing it in person, maybe I'm underestimating the size difference. Maybe small and metal could be 'the' concept, but it's gonna be a tough sell for Pentax on camera imagery alone. Would have even more reason to keep relying on "just hold a Pentax"...
